Poiano Garda Resort Appartamenti ★★★

"We had a very disappointing experience and cannot recommend this resort. The apartments have a strong, persistent musty smell, which was confirmed not only by us but also by other guests. It feels like a mix of old furniture, humidity and possibly mold. Our first apartment (C25) also had ants in the kitchen, which we documented. After multiple complaints and waiting more than 3 hours with two small children, we were moved to another apartment (C23). Unfortunately, the situation did not improve. The second apartment had: • the same strong unpleasant smell • visible humidity damage on the wall • and a constant water pipe noise during the night, starting around 5 a.m., making it impossible to sleep We were shown additional apartments, but all had the same strong smell. Even departing guests confirmed this issue. Despite all these problems and multiple attempts to find a solution, no acceptable accommodation was provided. In the end, we had to check out early. What is most disappointing is that the hotel refused any refund for the unused nights, even though the conditions were clearly below acceptable standards. This is absolutely not what you expect from a 4-star resort."

"Nós escolhemos o Golf Hotel Cà Degli Olivi para a recepção do nosso casamento (maio de 2025) para a paisagem mozofiada no lago de Garda e a gastronomia espectacular. Além disso, o serviço desde o início (a nossa primeira visão) até os dias após o nosso casamento foi segundo a ninguém. Robert, o chefe do restaurante seguiu as nossas exigências e estava super disponível. Sua experiência de sommelier nos ajudou a escolher os vinhos perfeitos para o nosso casamento combinações e Ponto beber para os nossos convidados. Além disso, temos de agradecer especialmente o chef Gaetano. Ele forneceu uma série de escolhas dentro ou orçamento e foi além de cada vez que visitámos. Nós escolhemos o riso carsize de limão - super delicado. Raviols com cerveja - gosto! E o turbante de queijo, se dissolve na boca que os convidados todos felicitados. A noite da Apericena foi um sucesso, com várias rondas de peixe frito. Além disso, estava disponível para satisfazer uma variedade de menus para crianças e hóspedes com alergias. Recentemente, voltámos para celebrar o nosso aniversário, porque não só ainda havia os elementos do menu que queríamos experimentar, mas o serviço e a hospitalidade que encontramos lá nos faz sempre sentir cocktailados. Por agora, obrigado e recomendamos a todos para experimentar este restaurante (e desfrutar da vista)!"

"We were visiting south Italy and our flights had an overnight stay in Rome. I ended up booking a room at Villa Alma for the night as it is close to the airport. The taxi from the airport dropped us at the entrance to the street instead of driving us to the front of the building. The driver was also rude and dismissive. It was late when we arrived. So about 10:30pm. Normally check in to Villa Alma closes at 9pm but the owner (Opi??) was waiting for us outside to guide us to the building. Since the taxi did not take us all the way to the door, we were not clear which building to go to but Opi waiting for us outside really helped. Opi was furious that the taxi driver was rude and also made us walk. When we told him what we paid for the ride, he told us he overcharged us and that was wrong. He said he was planning to go to the airport in the morning so he could drop us off as well. We went for a walk and had dinner. This is a nice neighborhood with a canal running through it. It has bridges over it. The view is nice. Also there are plenty of restaurants and bars open in very easy walking distance. We enjoyed our walk a lot. It seems this neighborhood has some festivals in summer so it might be good to go back. Anyway the room was clean, smelled good, well maintained and overall pleasant. We stayed at the room in the first floor (half a flight of walk up) Opi had a breakfast ready for us when we got up in the morning. He had juice, filled croissants, yogurt, coffee, tea etc. Overall I would say the breakfast was nice. He ended up driving us to the airport (along with somebody who works there) as he promised and refused to take money to make up for the bad treatment we had by the taxi driver the night before. We insisted but he refused it. Such a nice guy who made us feel good and happy to meet him. In general I prefer to not to write negative only reviews. But I made sure to write when somebody goes above and beyond. So in general this stay was definitely a good one."
