H10 Tindaya

We had a lovely welcome to the hotel by reception, we were given lots of paperwork to read about the hotel, and had some water and chocolates on the table when we arrived in to our rooms. We found our room, and they were spacious and up to date. Although there was no kettle in the standard double rooms, and even after requesting one, it didn’t arrive. Air con worked well. Room cleaned regularly. The safe is €20 to use, which is ridiculous that you have to pay to protect your stuff from their staff. The food was poor, often stone cold, limited choices, very repetitive, and no children’s options. Lots of long ques to get to the food stations such as the pancakes, or omelets or pasta or fish/meat stations. Often you were waiting on food to be refilled, or for plates or glasses so you can get a drink or some food because they have ran out of clean ones, there is a lack of staff and nothing is topped up very quickly at all. You even had to que to get into the restaurant, often there was plenty of tables available but they were full of dirty plates, as there just was not enough staff to cope. I would often walk past the que and go and move the dirty plates on to another table, then go behind the waiters station, get clean cutlery so we could sit down and eat, rather than wait 40+ minutes with a 5 year old getting bored and miserable in the queue. There were two front of house staff at the entrance of the dinning room, who just stood and watched the waiters clearing tables, no one seems to help others, to get the jobs done, it’s not their job, and they certainly do not help. They just stand and watch! The snack bar was vile, and the chef even worse, cold hard pizza was served every day, amongst other things and nothing replaced until it was gone regardless of the condition of the food. They would run out of clean plates, or cutlery, and no one was in a rush to top them up. I plated some food up at the snack bar one day, by the time someone had brought more cutlery out, my food was absolutely stone cold and inedible, so I threw the whole lot away and started again. Bins were often over flowing, dirty plates piled up. It seemed there just was not enough staff, and it wasn’t the problem of other staff to help. There was a lovely little coffee shop, that’s only open during the day, it doesn’t hold any pool safe cups, so you have to go down to the pool, to get some plastic cups to be able to get the drinks to take them around the pool. The coffee shop isn’t near the pool. The pool area was also dirty, we didn’t want to put our bare feet on the floor next to our sun lounger so often remained in our flip flops. The bins over flowed. It was the life guards that collected cups from around the pool. Doing multiple jobs. The pools are salt water. The pool bar pool is the warmest, but the kids were not allowed any toys or inflatables in there, and the life guard was so strict and rude. Hotel Just got home. We were a party of 2 adults and stayed for 10 nights all inclusive in June 2024. Room 226 Location - Quiet but suited us. Overlooks a beautiful beach with access to other lovely beaches. Room - Booked a ‘superior’, sea view room. The room was spotlessly clean but it was very basic. No coffee making facilities - you could hire them at a cost. Also you had to pay for a safe. View from the room was amazing. Recommend you book a sea view room. Bars - During the day only the pool bar is open if you want an alcoholic drink. There were constant queues at all bars of between 5-10 minutes. At night people were ordering double the amount of drinks needed so they didn’t have to keep going to the bar. This meant each order took twice as long. At night 3 hard working staff to manage two bars isn’t enough. Entertainment - Typical hotel entertainment. Professional acts most nights. No piano bar type area to sit and have a drink at night. Restaurant - Simply not enough staff and the staff that were working weren’t the quickest.Tables not cleared quickly enough, with a constant wait for people for tables. No one seemed in charge. The whole system needs a major overhaul and some management presence would definitely help. Food Quality - Plenty of choice and good quality. There were snacks at the pool bar. Service - There’s not enough staff in every area of the hotel. If you’re Spanish you seemed to get more attention. English guests represented about 10% of the total guests with the majority made up of Spanish, German and Dutch Pool area - Two excellent pools and one for the Privilege guests. The two we used - one heated - were very good. Always clean, safe and one pool had plenty of slides for the kids Tui Rep - there wasn’t one. If you wanted to speak to your rep it was at 5.15pm on a Wednesday in a hotel half a mile away! Extra charge - We booked in on Wednesday 5th June at 10pm. Our leave date was Saturday 15th June. We had to vacate our room at noon and our transfer was 4.35pm. We had to pay an extra 10 euros each to keep our all inclusive status from 12 noon to 4.35pm! So our holiday in our opinion was short by 10 hours. The 10pm check to the 12 noon check out. We paid the extra. Overall - This hotel was excellent in some areas but they need more staff in the bar areas and restaurant. The good points make it a 4 star…but only just. But it could easily be so much better with a few more staff and better organisation

After a dismal stay at the H10 in Lanzarote a few months ago, I decided to give the chain another go at the Tindaya. I wish I hadn't. Overall, the hotel is nice enough and it never really felt crowded in December when I visited. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived but the hotel did call me bang on 3pm to let me know that my room was ready and we were invited to enjoy lunch whilst we waited. Where this hotel does win, are the rooms. My room felt modern and other than the wifi being dreadful and air conditioning being ineffective, everything else seemed ok. The hotel does charge 20 Euro a week to use the room safe but they're not only chain in the Canaries to do this. The food was great also, with a lot of it being freshly heated up in front of you. The things that really got my goat however were: - the staff annual party with their staff screeching outside my room until nearly 2am. I mentioned it to the night porter on reception but he didn't really care. Neither did the receptionist next day - the reasoning behind this was "it's only once a year" - bizarre logic - due to said staff party, we were shooed out of the restaurant at 2125 (they first started telling us to hurry up and finish at 2110) - very unprofessional - Mike's coffee bar is painfully slow because it is chronically understaffed. Readers should also note that they open in the evenings but with a severely limited menu. - Service at the bar is also very slow, again because they simply don't have enough staff - On one occasion, my room was cleaned but they didn't replace the towels - great to experience when you've just got out of the shower! Halfway through our stay, the hotel, without prior notice, decided to change their wristband system so we all got an email telling us to go change our wristbands. In any other country, they'd have implemented this without guest inconvenience. In our case, they could have just left it until all of the old wristbands were collected as guests inevitably checked out, but no, the staff had been told to swap them over and that was that. As part of the wristband swap, one of our group received a list of other guests and their room numbers by email which for anyone unaware is a terrible breach of EU GDPR regulations. We mentioned it to the receptionist but she was only really interested in changing our wristbands! Check out experience was a good example of how the staff are not trained to sort issues out. She insisted that I had eaten a "mini muffin" at Mike's coffee bar, which I had not. It's one of the few things that are not inclusive, even to all inclusive guests as I was. When I insisted I was not responsible for the 1.75 Euro, it seemed to throw her. It was as if the whole H10 Group would collapse because someone needed to cover the 1.75. I then handed my towel back to her, as per the required regulations (hand your pool towel card or towel back or they charge for it). When I handed it back she said "I cannot take th

The hotel doesn't quite meet the standard of its 4 star rating. Yes the hotel has a plethora of amenities and facilities to achieve it's 4 star rating, but is let down by insufficient staffing levels and tired uncomfortable fixtures and fittings. The hotel ticks boxes to obtain 4 star without providing what is needed to make it a comfotable stay. The beds are uncomfortable, as are the pillows. Spoke to other guests who concere. The rooms are a mixed lot. All are roughly the size. Most rooms appear to be 2 bedrooms. The rooms are dark inside during the day. Unless on the top floor. Some on the 2nd floor are below ground level from what the balcony views. The restaurants in general serve lukewarm food. The selection of food is limited. The slow toasting machine (5 passes to brown) only worked 2 days during our week stay. Tables are cleared slowly, due to lack of staff levels. The staff are not sluveny; just overworked. The pool areas are very good; however only one pool is heated. The best way to sum up this hotel is the disabled toilet at the privilege pool. A low seat tucked into a corner with no grap rails. However, another box ticked. In my opinion any stay away whether in a bed and breakfast establishment or a 5 star hotel should be incumbent on a good night's sleep and decent food. This hotel does provide this. If you do still want to stay at this hotel, go privilege rooms. Ps don't use the cashpoint machine in the hotel. Wanted €50 for airport. £4.80 charge to do so. Also be wary of the shop. A €21.50 sale and the assistant entered €215.00 into card reader.

Spent 12 days in this hotel and asked myself what I didn't like? and answer is - I liked everything about it! Location is great, huge beach, quiet place, nice facility, our room was renovated and quiet, the weather also was awesome , we really liked food selection and variety of sea food, cheeses, meets available daily. We will come back .
