Royal Sunset Beach Club

Last minute booking it didn't disappoint. We had a one bedroom apartment which was spacious, with a safe included in the price, fully equipped kitchen, lots of storage, filter water tap which saved us having to keep buying water and a great size terrace with your own sunbeds, parasol and table and chairs, would have been nice to have a pool view however we as we did not spend a great deal of time in the room it did not spoil our stay. Lovely pool, plenty of comfy sunbeds (no sunbed wars when we were there!), very reasonably priced pool bar, daytime activities including archery and bingo. There was evening entertainment but we never saw this Location is excellent bars, restaurants, supermarket and beach all within a short walk and if you need a cab there is a rank outside the hotel Friendly polite staff, cleaning is every 3 days but not an issue, you can empty your own bin nearby if needed : plan to return in 2025

This has been the most disappointing holiday I have ever had. Please read on, but if you want my quick summary: This hotel is good in some ways, but the price is grossly wrong for the level of service it is delivering. It is a hotel of days gone by, but it has kept its outrageously high prices, and fails to deliver at almost every turn. I have stayed in hotels 1/4 the price and had better service and experience. This hotel is the definition of all fur coat and ... well you get it. We paid over £8000 GBP for 4 adults for just 6 nights stay, and this only included breakfast. This also was in the off-season of October. Overcharged on arrival: The hotel charged me twice, resulting in £140 in unnecessary bank fees. Although refunded, this mistake shouldn't have happened. Dead flowers: Wilted flowers were left all over the hotel. Unsafe conditions: Plug sockets were hanging off the walls. Filthy environment: The floors and corridors were dirty, and the grout looked like it hadn't been cleaned in decades. Plumbing issues: My parents' room smelled of sewage due to faulty plumbing throughout the stay. Flooded bathroom: My grandmother's shower basin was blocked with someone else's hair, causing flooding. Inaccessible for elderly: The hotel’s layout made it almost impossible for our 85-year-old grandmother to move around, contrary to what the photos suggest. Exorbitant fees: After paying over £8,000 for 6 nights, we were still charged £20 per person to play pitch and putt on the hotel's own grounds. Unhygienic breakfast: Dirty cups were used at breakfast. Shower hygiene: Previous guests' hair remained in my shower basin for the first three days. Poor poolside facilities: Towels at the pool were often ripped and frayed, yet still in use. Unsafe lifts: My mother nearly broke her arm tripping due to unsecured mats inside the lift. Inconvenient lift service: One lift was out of order, and we were told to just walk to another, without any assistance or apology. Not a 5* attitude. Not even a sign on the door to apologise for inconvenience. Waiting for lift for my elderly grandmother to be able to get down to breakfast at 9am was a nightmare. The reception just didn't care. Poor hygeine around pool: Soap dispensers appear to never have been cleaned in years. Unclean exercise area: The decking for morning stretching was covered in bird droppings that had clearly not been cleaned for months. Inadequate room service: Ordered a pasta arrabiata, which arrived as overcooked pasta with barely any sauce—a complete embarrassment. Absurd poolside restrictions: Denied food by the pool without wearing trousers, then told we had to order snacks 24 hours in advance. No basic options like crisps or fruit were available, despite charging €190 for a massage. If this hotel had of cost half the price, we would have probably overlooked these issues, but throughout the holiday we noticed more and more problems and we just feel totally ripped off. This 6 day trip was not worth
Flamingo Suites Boutique Hotel

We’ve just returned from Flamingo Suites after a 2 week visit for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment (as it was the only one available) and it was spacious, clean and very comfortable, with air conditioning in both bedrooms and the lounge. It was located on the first floor, the balcony overlooked the high street and had a partial sea view. Despite this, it wasn’t noisy and we had no trouble sleeping. The location was excellent with numerous restaurants, bars and the beach on our doorstep. There is a spa located beneath Reception and you have to book a slot in it. It is free to use and we were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of Cava on ice had been given to us for our anniversary - it was a very nice touch. The pool area was very clean and peaceful and we didn’t find a need to reserve a sun bed at any time. You could order drinks from the Reception and they come from the bar below the hotel. I believe that bar is separate from the hotel but, has a family link. It is also worth visiting that bar for lunch or breakfast because the food was excellent and not too expensive. Would definitely recommend Flamingo Suites and hope to visit again soon.

I stayed here with my partner and our 5 month old daughter. We had a two bedroom room which was really spacious with a kitchen and huge sun terrace. We had a really good time, the location is good near to loads of restaurants/ little supermarket if you want to make use of the kitchen. As we had a small baby with us we didn’t leave the hotel much, just went to the pool which did get busy but there seemed to be plenty of loungers for everyone. Breakfast was nice with everything you’d expect from a hotel breakfast. I read the scam reviews before our trip and did overhear all the people mentioned in the other reviews showing people around and trying to sell these holidays while we were waiting for our taxi to the airport in the hotel lobby. They did not approach us but do seem to be operating in the foyer of this hotel and showing people around. All in all we had a great stay and would return.

We've been to this hotel over a dozen times and have spent thousands of pounds to come here over many years. In the last year or so we have seen a real decline in the quality of the hotel. Firstly THE ROOMS The suites are looking really shabby, the walls are marked and wallpaper lifting from the walls, chipped furniture, dirty door hinges, soap trays hanging off the shower room wall, and dusty lights. Oh, and Jacuzzi on balconies that fill up with rusty water! The POOL There are big craters appearing in the swimming pool (I actually caught my foot on one and it bruised my toes), it's dangerous. Then there's the filthy torn sunbed pads with foam hanging out, these are disgusting and unhygienic. As everyone else mentions, the tiled flooring around the pool area are slippery as hell, we saw two people fall over whilst there, this is also an ongoing issue. Also whilst staying at the hotel we were talking to a gentleman in the swimming pool who said he was actually from another hotel, along with his wife and that their friends (who was staying at Gran Tacanda) had let them in to sunbathe and drink around the pool. That poses a SECURITY risk. For that reason, be careful of your personal belongings being left on the (filthy) sunbeds, there are people who aren't even residents at this hotel using the facilities here. See all of my photos taken in January 2025. We pay €350 a night to stay in that! This is NOT 4 or 5 star hotel anymore. You'd get better kept, cleaner suites, safer pools and nicer sunbeds in a 3 star hotel. STAFF The staff in the main breakfast area are good, always helpful, the food at breakfast is good enough, although I noticed that they have cut back on a few things (bread, cheese and pastry selection) and sometimes we had to nudge the person behind the fruit counter and salad counter to top up the bowls as they were empty every morning. The Staff in the poolside restaurant are abysmal. Service is non-existent, and when it does happen, there are no greetings, no smiles, just miserable staff. The food is mediocre, we had to send two portions of fries back because they were undercooked. If you can't get fries right, then God help them with the rest of the menu! Fries are easy to cook? We have never been in such a slow and rude restaurant like this one before. The staff clearly do not enjoy working here and it shows. We wish we had not eaten there, it was our last night on the holiday and not a good way to end our holiday, it was awful. We have visited many other wonderful restaurants nearby to the hotel during our stay with happy friendly staff and chefs that know how to cook! For us, the staff have always made this hotel, but unfortunately the hotel is now in such a poor state of repair, that we don't want to stay at this hotel anymore and whilst on holiday we went to look at another one further down the road which truly IS a FIVE star hotel, similar price to Gran Tacande (but also includes evening meals). After over

Great hostel in a rich area. The hostel is like two mansions teamed up. I stayed in December. I arrived to be greeted by Andrea (who is awesome) training two new volunteers at reception, who all kindly entertained my attempt at speaking Spanish. I did find it quite odd that 90% of the staff were incredibly good looking women. The breakfast is really good in a fantastic underground fancy cave like setting. They have themed food nights each night, while a little pricey for what you get, is a great way to meet some of the other guests. There is a really good Italian pizza place a few minutes walk inland nearby. And a park just over the road with a small calisthenics open gym area. My only note of improvement would be to ditch these squeaky clunky metal bunk beds and replace them with solid wood, maybe even more of a pod style type. Anyway thanks for the great stay
