Overall, I would probably not recommend to stay here.
Good things first:
- location is Ok, 10-15 min tuktuk ride from the city center
- rooms and resort itself were generally clean and you felt comfortable in the room
- the non-client interacting staff was super nice (drivers, housekeepers, etc.)
Now the bad experiences we have made:
- upon arrival we were “greeted” by a very unfriendly lady at the reception
- we did not get the room that was indicated in the booking confirmation (2nd/3rd floor was promised, we got a ground floor)
- room was supposed to have a hair dryer. It did not and joint asking for it the reception/front desk staff was extremely unfriendly and really 0 interested in providing help or a solution
- the unfriendly atmosphere continued when having lunch at the pool. Staff was completely unorganized, but worst of all: in the end the staff tried to blame us for it (we had several attempts of ordering lunch (sandwich, pizza,..) and with every meal we ordered they came back 10 minutes later saying they ran out. With the pizza, they realized 35 minutes after the order that they ran out. After 2 hours, I received a Cesar’s salad)
Mistakes can happen and New Years might be a busy time, but even in these situations - it’s all about how you deal with it and the staff of this hotel dealt with it in a completely unacceptable way.
