We enjoyed our stay in the La Scuna apartment very much. We had a little trouble locating it, but friendly locals helped out. The apartment is spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped. Unlike the B & B rooms, La Scuna apartment does not have sea views, but it does have a view up along the rugged and terraced hills, which is very nice. It is well set-up for those who like to self-cater, with fridge, cooktop, microwave, dining table and chairs, and ample crockery and cutlery. Staff were friendly and helpful, including when we needed advice on how to access the TV channels. Corniglia seemed very crowded when we arrived, but that may have been because the shuttle bus had just disgorged a couple of loads of passsengers from the station. It seemed to ease off after a while and from our experience of the 5 villages, Corniglia was the least crowded and nicest one to be staying in. There are numerous cafes and bars, as well as a couple of mini-markets where provisions may be purchased. We found the apartment to be very comfortable, although a little cold, due to the late arrival of Spring weather and minimal heating. The internet connection could be patchy, helped by finding a suitable hotspot within the unit and it appeared that the apartment may have been unoccupied for some time, as the floors were quite dusty when we arrived (soon fixed with a good sweeping). All in all, an excellent place to stay, especially if you want to self-cater.
