Stayed at the Onomo for a work trip with my booking being confirmed and paid for in advance by our travel agent. When I arrived, I was told that their booking system had had an error resulting in rooms being doubled booked, and my room was no longer available. What was particularly disgraceful is the fact they had known about this issue with the bookings long in advance but had made zero effort to contact those who would be effected. The only alternative they were able to offer was one of their larger apartments which I had to share with a someone who I had never met before (who also had the exact same problem!); this apartment did have two separate rooms but had no locks on the door ... The following day, I spoke to the manager who apologised but was not willing to offer any sort of refund (partial, or full) and only wanted to give a free lunch at their hotel which I didn't want or need since I was checking-out beforehand. The manager then agreed to offer a c. $30 discount on my next booking in lieu however, when I emailed the address he gave me [as well as later cc'ing in the generic hotel email], I was told what was agreed would not be possible and they eventually stopped replying. I will add that, in the past, I have stayed here for previous work trips and not had serious problems: the rooms are modern and pretty reasonable, as is the food, and the helpfulness / attitude of the staff is pretty hit and miss [some are great, others are awful]. Gym is pretty rudimentary. WiFi is VERY temperamental. So I'd probably give this a 3/5 otherwise. But with the aforementioned issue of double-booking bought-and-paid-for rooms and making zero effort to not only contact people ahead of time but then also going back on a small yet agreed-upon form of compensation, I honestly would not recommend risking making a booking here unless the likes of the Riviera, Noom etc. are fully booked (these other hotels are far superior and better value for money despite higher costs). To that end, I've made an internal recommendation not to use this hotel again, and I will only do so unless there is no other option.
