Cobar Town & Country Motor Inn

This is a nice quiet motel and conveniently located only a block or so from Cobar’s centre. It was very clean and comfortable with good parking close to our room and excellent heating on a cold night. The Wi-Fi worked well. There is no on-site restaurant, but you are only a short walk to the town centre with good bistros in the hotels. The bed was very comfortable, we’d certainly stay here again.

Listing on Wotif showed bar, bar/lounge for food and drink and room service --- There is none. The receptionist was generally disinterested. The room was part of a pair of rooms and an adjoining door had no lock and was secured by placing a table in front of the door. The room was tired and badly in need of refreshing. The room was clean, and the bed good, but otherwise was undeserving of a high rating. Wotif should review this listing for honesty.... it is false and misleading.... that is unacceptable. If you are desperate for accommodation in Cobar - its ok, but they need to lift their game. We would recommend planning your trip to skip overnight in Cobar.

​We got the last hotel room in Cobar after our White Cliffs accommodation closed due to flooding. It was a 1 queen & 1 single bed in the same room. It was a very large room, lots of space not utilised well, with old red brick and outdated furnishings and furniture. It has so much potential if the owners wanted to put some money into it. Comfy bed, but not great pillows. Has a good sized bathroom with plenty of room for bigger vanity, so not sure why put such a small one in. Shower pressure is good and heats up fast. Has a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster available - but only 3 mugs and teaspoons - no plates, bowls or cutlery! So bizarre. Luckily we were able to get extra takeaway cutlery with dinner to use to butter our toast and had our own paper towel for plates. Were told the restaurant had just closed as the chef quit that day.

We had supplies - however the room had a toaster - no plates or cutlery - seems strange. Spoke to reception- they said that management don’t want utensils in rooms - they go missing As I said to the lady on desk - why put a toaster in the room?
