Stayed here many times. This time well to start wi-if. Shows you full bars but a speed test about 1.97 down, god that's almost like dial-up. I found a cable in the little office area there jacked in you almost 100 down a huge difference. The desk crew has no clue. The service was so slow that I couldn't get OneNote to Sync. Now on this trip, we have been at a bunch of Holiday Inns in different states. Here for some crazy reason, they decided to put a table across the breakfast area so you can't go in and they have a person getting you the food. What a mess, in the others, walk in with a mask on and get your food. Here stand in 10 person line waiting for one person to get food, some with masks and some not. About 1 am there was a noise that sounded like someone using a hammer drill. I don't know if it was a water pipe, but woke us up it was that loud. I now have mixed feelings about recommending this hotel. The other times in the past years were fine, but this time between the noise, internet and food area it wasn't a great experience.

This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. It’s extremely clean, updated, lots of amenities in the rooms; lots of pillows, extra blankets, hair dryer, make up remover, (shower gel, shampoo conditioner and body lotion all on convenient wall mounted attachments) There were ample towels and the bathroom was spotless and shower was nice and hot with good water pressure. The beds were really comfortable and the room was dark. There was ~47” smart tv wall mounted and I assume you can sign into your own various apps? (Netflix etc) The provided breakfast in the lobby was pretty good & included a waffle stand, toaster, fried potatoes, sausages, scrambled eggs or hard boiled eggs, cold cereal assortment, various juices, coffee, mini muffins and scones, fresh bananas and apples . A few guests, including myself commented that there should be water available as well. You had to go to the gym to use the water dispenser and down one of the halls to get ice. As I’m not a coffee, tea or juice drinker, I felt this was the only thing lacking. Overall a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this establishment.

Upon checking into our room I needed to wash my hands. The water did not drain from the sink. I ended up scooping what I could with a paper coffee cup into the bath tub. It took over an hour for the rest of the water to drain from the sink. There was a big empty spot in the corner of the room by the window where an arm chair obviously used to be. There was a side table and a floor lamp but no chair to sit on. The foot of the bed frame had uneven edging that jutted out and I bumped my leg on it. The room was very dark and dingy and would be improved with ceiling lights. The slip of paper we were given with the wifi code was wrong. The word Quality was part of the code but was printed on the slip with a small letter q. The password wouldn't take until I tried using a capital Q. The breakfast was less than desirable. The thinnest possible paper plates were provided and they couldn't hold the weight of the scrambled eggs. There was a sign to only take one plate and not to double up. Actually you'd need half a dozen plates to make it back to your table. There are only 3 tables in the breakfast room with a total of 11 chairs. The coffee was extremely weak and there were no lids provided for the paper coffee cups. There was no ketchup for the eggs. I watched the morning attendant leave the desk area to go into a back room and he was in his sock feet. He was not professionally dressed ... wearing an old t-shirt and jeans. Doesn't say much for having any pride in his job. He was not the friendly sort either. One or two inconveniences can be overlooked, but this hotel shouldn't even be considered a Quality Hotel, let alone use the name Quality at all. There are a few other hotels nearby inclucing a Hampton across the road. This place should be renamed the Dumpton. We picked this place because we are Choice Hotel members and like to stay with the brand. Choice Hotels would be wise to do a blind audit on this hotel and rebrand it either Econolodge or Rodeway and drop the price per night by 50%

This is a budget motel, so i'm going to rate it accordingly. It is fine for what is is: It's a safe, clean room at a decent price. It's also far enough from the interstate that you don't get the noise. There is wear-and-tear here and there that is to be expected for it's price-point. You can tell they fix thigs as needed, but don't fix them until really necessary. Therefore it's easy to find things that need addressing, but work adequately until they are. For an example, our toilet paper dispenser was barely hanging onto the wall. But it still functioned. There were a few examples of things like this in the room, however, i'm not going to dwell on it because they've price it accordingly and the room was just fine for what we paid for it. My only real complaint is the chair in my room was beyond acceptable and borderline gross. They need to know when to get rid of furniture. That said, it was a quiet sleep. The staff we met were very polite and friendly. I would stay here again for sure.

My husband and I had a good stay. Trucker friendly so awesome. The room was very clean and quite. The front desk lady that checked us in she is so sweet. We will definitely go back. Thank you for a quite comfy stay.

This Red Roof is conveniently right off the highway. I was welcomed immediately by the open and friendly hostess. The room and bathroom were clean. I appreciated the uncarpeted floors which seem easier to keep clean. For this size hotel I also appreciated having a mini-fridge (that I used) and microwave (that I didn't). The breakfast is truly continental, cereal, muffins, apples, and the coffee was fine. There is no elevator (that I know of) but the wide open interior staircase and well lit inside halls made access and comfort level easy enough for me. The morning staff were all friendly and helpful as well. I will stay there again.

Needed a place for the night and showed up and got checked in extremely quickly. Desk person was friendly and efficient. Plenty of luggage carts. Good breakfast. Lots of warm and cold options. Very spacious dining area. Fitness room had a couple of treadmills, elliptical, and recumbent bike - all Precor I believe. Also full rack of dumbbells to 50 lbs. Not the biggest room, but probably enough to do all of your exercises even with aerobic machines going. Indoor pool and room was very warm. Great pressure on the jets in the hot tub. No freezer in the room refrigerator. Will definitely consider this Hampton next time we're visiting Galax.
