The room was clean, the infrastructure was perfect, there was a small gym, the breakfast was the finishing touch, the variety was not too much, but it was very appetizing. There is a free shuttle to the airport, praise.
We stayed in July 2022 and since we had stayed there before and had issues at check out with the front desk saying we owed more money and having already paid in full decided to pay cash and only put the fifty dollar deposit on the credit card. We checkout and are told the deposit has been released back to my credit card and a week later I'm still waiting for it. I checked with the hotel and was told check with ny bank which I did. Still no refund with the hotel insisting it was refunded and me saying no it wasn't. After getting no where with hotel management I wrote off to the owner of Peppermill resorts of which western village ****** hotel is part of and two weeks later I've heard nothing from Mr. Bill Paganetti Sr the owner. Every time we have stayed there there's an issue with payment upon check out with the front desk either saying we owe more and then running my credit card three times to get extra money they're not entitled to or saying we can't check out we owe more money when I've paid in full and have receipts to prove it. Western village ****** hotel front desk has serious issues with their front desk staff and reservation system and because I dared to complain about the deposit we were told we're not welcome back. This is how a three star hotel treats individuals who dare to complain about room charges and deposits. I realize it's just fifty dollars but it's the principle of the fact that a hotel can scam people out of Money and get away with it.As the saying goes buyer beware in this case guest beware because you might find your credit card charged extra or worse be told you owe more money so you can't check out. Even if we were welcome back we still wouldn't stay there because of the money issues that always come up at checkout with staff . The housekeeping staff is far friendlier than the hotel front desk staff and that says alot. We've stayed at four and five star hotels and never had these issues so obviously it's an issue with Western village ****** hotel so again guest beware if you choose to stay there
This is 3rd time staying here I believe. I have a Marriott discount because my son is employee, so I’ve stayed at almost all the Marriotts here in Reno/Sparks/Tahoe. Very often. So when I say this property is my favorite hotel in the area, that’s saying something. It’s fantastic here! I work down street a few miles and we’re expecting bad snow, so I’m here next 4 nights. I have 1-BR with full kitchen. Drove 2 minutes over to Target and loaded up groceries. Made myself a steak and mashed potatoes tonight, they had all cookware plates utensils etc. How cool is that at a hotel? My room is new and clean, sofa rocks with big front section. Legends Bay ****** is right across the street, and while I’m not big gambler, I do plan on grabbing a meal or 2 there. Even with heavy snow should be ok. There’s also all kinds of shopping there, I plan on checking out Sat. I did my laundry tonight. Checked out pool and hot tub, nice and well taken care of. Alex checked me in tonight and was a nice young person and great first impression. Chey helped me out last time I was here, also was great. Thank you RI Sparks! You guys have a wonderful hotel and your people are awesome. I highly recommend friends!!

Starbucks in the lobby is cheaper than anywhere else. The beef noodles in the restaurant on the first floor are quite authentic and not expensive. The elevator is too slow, waiting for 10 minutes on the stairs.

After reading all the positive reviews, I booked this hotel, but my experience was extremely disappointing compared to what others had mentioned. The hotel condition was somewhat acceptable, but the lift had issues—it only started about 30 seconds after pressing the button. The kitchen was poorly equipped, with no utensils or coffee supplies, making it both inconvenient and frustrating. The breakfast was subpar, barely worth calling a meal. The staff were short-handed and far from considerate or helpful. It felt like any request was a burden to them. There was a stove in the room, but no instructions on how to use it. The stove was locked so that guests couldn’t use it until they received training from the front desk. According to the manager, guests needed to go down for an orientation. They advertised breakfast was included, but what was provided was disappointing—stale eggs, muffins, and packet oats. There wasn’t even enough coffee available, and I had to wait for a new batch to be made. When I raised these concerns, the manager simply said that this is how all their hotel chains operate now and that they couldn’t be different. If this approach continues, it’s only a matter of time before someone else buys the place, and the current owner goes out of business. It seems the owner is focused on cutting corners to make a profit, without considering guest satisfaction. Overall, I strongly advise against staying here. This hotel fails to meet even the most basic expectations. I will never use this hotel again.

Let’s face it, a vacation isn’t truly complete without a delicious breakfast to kickstart the day. And when that breakfast is paired with a service that’s both friendly and efficient, it’s an experience that leaves a lasting impression. My recent stay at Gampton inn was made all the more memorable by their complimentary breakfast and the outstanding service provided by Tony, a true gem amongst their staff. From the moment I entered the breakfast room, I was greeted by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sight of a buffet spread that promised to satisfy every craving. It was a symphony of colors and textures – vibrant fruits, fluffy pastries, steaming omelets, crispy bacon, and savory sausages. The sheer variety was impressive, catering to both traditional and adventurous palates. My eyes were immediately drawn to the wafflestation. Tony, with a warm smile and a genuine eagerness to please, welcomed me with open arms. He effortlessly guided me through the selection of fillings, offering suggestions based on my preferences. The breakfast itself was a perfect start to our day, everything was cooked to perfection and brimming with my chosen ingredients. His meticulous attention to detail, showcased his dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience. As I moved through the buffet, my senses were further tantalized by the assortment of fresh breads, cereals, yogurt, and fruit. The waffle was flaky and buttery, the yogurt was creamy and refreshing, and the selection of fruits was bursting with flavor. Each bite was a testament to the quality of ingredients and the care that went into preparing them. But it wasn't just the food that made this breakfast special. It was Tony's unwavering dedication to his craft that truly set it apart. He was a true master of hospitality, anticipating my needs before I even had to ask. He refilled my coffee cup without prompting, cleared my plate with a gentle touch, and even offered me a fresh napkin with a cheerful ”Have a wonderful day!” It was the kind of service that made you feel like you were the only guest in the room. Beyond his attentiveness, Tony’s warmth and humor were infectious. He engaged in friendly conversation, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just another face in the crowd. He shared his knowledge of the local area, recommending hidden gems and must-see attractions that I wouldn't have discovered otherwise. His genuine interest in my well-being extended beyond the breakfast room. He even went out of his way to help me locate a quiet area at the lake when I needed to join a zoom meeting, and because it wasn't hot yet, he told me about this perfect spot that had shade, and a perfect view of the water. This act of kindness, going above and beyond the call of duty, truly solidified his position as a standout member of the staff. Tony's dedication to providing an exceptional customer experience was evident in every interaction. His positive energy and genuine care
I ordered food to be delivered to my room once. It was missing half of what was supposed to be there. It was also 35 minutes late from when they said it would be delivered. And it was cold.
Another night I was waiting for the front desk to pick up the phone for 50 minutes. At 10pm.
Another night the two front desk agents I talked to were very confused. The first one gave me wrong info, and the second one corrected what I was told, but then sent me away to come back later.
I really like GSR, and I really enjoy the pool, the rooms are beautiful, the nonsmoking rooms are great, etc. But I do feel they could use a massive customer service training overhaul.
We stayed here while driving US-50 through northern Nevada. The hotel is very close to the airport, but we had no trouble sleeping due to noise or anything like that. Location is also good for restaurants and other services, and it's easily accessed from the Interstate. Hotel was good too; service was friendly and competent. Rooms were comfortable and modern; beds were fresh and sleep was good; bathroom was clean and the appliances worked well; and the Wifi worked well too.
