After being on road for hours I saw a sign for Microtel Lake Norman/Cornelius. I, myself manage a (Best of the Best) Wyndham Property and I know a nice, well managed property when I see it. The hotel was very clean and they had a Best of the Best of Wyndham trophy proudly displayed at the front desk. I was then greeted by Peter. He was very personable, professional and knowledgeable. He actually gave me an upgrade on my room and graciously offered to show me a single room verses the double room I was assigned to. The beds were so comfortable and we slept very well. Another perk was that this hotel had a covered parking garage. Nice! The breakfast was modest but well attended and fully stocked. Upon departure the housekeepers Mike and Hema asked me how my stay was and invited me to visit again then requested that I complete a review. So Hema, here's your review! I returned my keys to Liz at the front desk, who was friendly, cordial and had a great personality. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thanks for a great stay!

Both times I lived across the road and it was under construction and looked a bit dusty. The hotel has no laundry room.

Disappointed. We stay at a lot of Choice hotels. We needed a one night stay while we did some business in Cornelius. Generally they are all nice. We sleep, eat breakfast & go on our way. But not here. The facility was very clean but a little bit used up. The beds were excellent. There was never anyone at the front desk when I was there at about 7 pm or 8 am or 8:45 am. They came out from behind a closed door. You don’t usually see an empty front desk at any Choice hotels. We expected a breakfast of yogurt, toast, bagel, cereal, coffee, juice. With COVID we don’t expect to see make your own waffles. What we got was a brown paper bag with a Jimmy Dean microwaveable croissant and a bar in it to eat in our room. Our microwave didn’t work so we had to rush through MacDonald’s line & pay for breakfast in the end. Coffee was available though but it was not drinkable. It was very bitter. I would guess it was old. The breakfast area was halfway taken up with old ac units being stored. I was standing there looking at that & thinking about what was going on here & a hotel employee showed up & asked if I needed help. Just skip this hotel. I will from now on. Choice has some very nice other properties nearby.

Unclean. Loud. Unfriendly staff. These are the top 3 reasons why hotels disappoint my family. But this Homewood Suites wasn’t in danger of any of those! In fact, this hotel is probably in our top 3. The design of this unique Homewood Suites is intriguing, and the layout ensured for a very quiet stay. The room was very clean, the water pressure and temperature were great, and our limited interactions with the staff were pleasant. The breakfast was serviceable, and nobody in our clan went away hungry. The location is great for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Davidson near eateries and things to do. We’ll definitely stay here again if we have the need!

I was very pleased with my stay here. Our room was clean and comfortable at a reasonable rate. The area was safe and had a wide variety of stores and restaurants nearby. The front desk clerk (Silver I believe was her name) went above and beyond by offering us bottled water and snacks upon our arrival. She also brought out additional food at breakfast even though breakfast was closing in 10 minutes just so we would have fresh food to eat. We appreciate this great service and will definitely return if we are in the area again.

We actually stayed here for 1 night twice in a week as we used it as our stopover as we travelled from up north to Florida and back. It was an excellent choice, good beds, clean rooms, good breakfast, helpful staff, good location. We like the Tru concept for short stays and like that they are newer hotels. Good beds, walkin showers, refrigerator, No microwave or coffee in room but those are available 24/7 downstairs. Even had a pool table in lobby. Would use this hotel again we arrived late so we didnt explore neighborhood or try nearby restaurants.
