Good budget hotel: the room was big and offered all the comforts. Lots of pillows and towels in the bathroom, professional staff.Breakfast was good: I have to say I will be coming back because the price for all you get at this hotel is very good . This is probably not the place for you if old wallpaper bothers you. In fact the whole place could use a renovation but I didn’t mind it. Perfect location for Binghamton University, practically across the road.

Checked in today at around 3PM. Location is great - right next to a grocery store (Maines), movie theater and SUNY Broome in reasonable walking distance, Applebees/CrackerBarrel a little further up and even a Farmer's Market open year round on Saturdays within a mile at Taste of NY. Room is amazing - I'm simple but I'm a gamer and I have equipment that requires high speed internet and I can game and work very reasonably with the complementary Wi-Fi. Coffee machine that's easy to use, accessible ice machine, large fridge and nice microwave in room, room was fresh feeling and clean upon check-in. The service leaves much to be desired. The ”staff” (people sitting at the front desk that do whatever) are unfriendly, unhelpful, and overall apathetic. It 100% shows in how I was treated upon check in and when I had a few other inquiries. Most of my information was incorrect in their system which clearly displays their lack of attention to detail and when I asked to have it corrected, I was looked at like I was ignorant. Will not be asking them for a single thing again while I'm here. That being said - that is my only gripe. Will be coming back. But expect nothing again from the ”staff people.”

The positives - this property is easily findable, just past the turning circle off the busy I-81 and tucked in a quiet area. Check-in was friendly and quick. The room seemed recently renovated with hardwood flooring, and seemed clean and in good shape despite it being an older property. The beds however were more like three-quarter sized than standard double, which led to an uncomfortable night for us as we slept two per bed. Making our night worse was the noisy A/C, which we felt compelled to keep on as it was a hot muggy night, plus it helped create white noise to damper the racket from neighbors both beside and above us - the walls are very thin. Water pressure and temperature were both very poor, and the tiny soaps and shampoo provided wouldn't wash one of us let alone four, but fortunately we always being our own. The breakfast was what we expected for a place like this so we went to McDonalds just around the bend. All in all, we got what we paid for, and we didn't pay much compared to what we would've at other places. But the next time we're stopping in Binghamton maybe we'll spend a few extra bucks for hopefully a better experience.

Great stop if you want to break up the journey to Niagara Falls. Hotel is located near the main road. For 1 night it's perfect. On the other hand, from the room you could hear the vehicles passing on the main road and the included breakfast was poor (in terms of choice and quality).

I was traveling with pets and it was difficult to find somewhere to stay for the night. My daughter booked red roof that was within budget. Good move! Room was clean, quiet, pet friendly. Awesome shower pressure,hot water,nice bed. Will stay again!

I have stayed at other La Quintas before and this one, while OK, was not of the same caliber. First the pros: Check in was easy, front desk greeter very friendly, nice lobby, room clean, spacious, and bed comfortable, hot breakfast included. The cons: Breakfast lacked milk, cereal, bagels. The door to my room was difficult to close and needed some kind of adjustment (which I reported upon checkout). While the bathroom was recently updated and looked nice, the old tub was still in place with discolored (moldy) grout on the tiles. For a handicapped accessible room, the tub should really be replaced with a walk in shower. What I disliked the most was how they processed payments. At other La Quintas, my credit card was simply charged the room fee plus taxes. Done. At THIS La Quinta, however, I was charged a $75 ”incidental” fee, which was then reversed, then I was charged the room rate PLUS another incidental fee. Very annoying. As of this moment I am still overcharged and waiting to see if a credit comes through. I will not stay here again, simply for this strange billing practice which seems sketchy to me.

Not sure what the negative reviews are about. This is the clear-cut best of any place I've stayed in Binghamton on business over the past few years. Room was updated and clean, bed comfortable, and staff friendly and helpful. It is pretty weak that they still aren't doing regular housekeeping in the summer of 2023. Pandemic is over, let's treat guests right. But the staff working there were great and I'd certainly stay there again.
