Sukhothai Historical Park
小小团旅游日记Sukhothai Historical Park is the site of the historic city of Sukhothai in Thailand, known as the "Siam Culture Cradle". The park is located in the central north of Thailand, on the left bank of the Yonghe River, about 540 kilometers north of the capital Bangkok. It was reopened to the public on November 20, 1987, after being rebuilt, covering an area of about 116.5 square kilometers. Sukhothai means "dawn of happiness" in Thai, and it was the capital of the first independent country established by the Thai nation in the 13th century, and later became the capital of the Sukhothai dynasty. The Sukhothai dynasty lasted 200 years, and the most brilliant culture in Thai history appeared. King Lankanxiang created the text of Thailand today and recorded the first history of Thailand on the stone tablet; The sculpture and architectural art of the fifth king of Litai reached its peak, known as the "presidency of Thai art"; the sixth king Tamaraja wrote the first Thai literary work based on the story of the Buddhist scriptures. The ancient city of Sukhothai is rectangular, surrounded by three layers of earth walls, moats and city walls, and has four large pools in the city. The city is densely populated with 193 Buddhist monuments, including a palace, 35 Buddhist temples and a large number of ancient towers, Buddha statues, stone monuments, ponds, dams and ancient porcelain kilns. Sukhothai culture is the pride of the Thai nation, for tourists who want to learn more about Thai history and culture, Sukhothai Historical Park is a not to be missed destination.
Wat Mahathat
喜喜欢猫的虎Mahatai Temple (Wat Mahathat) is located in the center of the ancient city of Sukhothai. It is the largest temple and ruins in Sukhothai. The temple is composed of 12 Buddhist temples, and a large number of Buddha statues are worshipped in the temple. The columns in the temple are very tall, and the Buddha statues are still sitting in a state of silence, although some are old. The famous tree cradles Buddha's head here, and you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset views.
Wat Chetuphon
宇宇喜多信家1The local translation is Chetupeng Temple. It is located in the south of Sukhothai, opposite to Wat Xihong. It is relatively large temple in this area. The most spectacular thing is the Buddha statues on the four walls, which are four postures of Buddha, but most of them are seriously damaged.

Wat Chang Lom
喜喜欢猫的虎At the Elephant Temple, you can see the stone inscriptions of King Ramkhamhaeng. The temple is surrounded by 36 elephants. It is said that it was built by King Ramkhamhaeng in 1285. A Ceylon-style bell-shaped pagoda stands on a square foundation. Take a minibus from Th Jarot Withithong Road in the old city, the fare is 20 baht, and the journey takes 30 minutes. There are bicycles for rent near the entrance of the park, about 40 baht per day.
Ramkhamhaeng National Museum
宇宇喜多信家1Fortunately, the temple was open to the public for free on the day I went. It is mainly divided into three parts, first a lobby, then the main exhibition hall, then the exhibition hall under renovation and the outdoor open-air part. The first lobby is a brief introduction to the location of various temples in Sukhothai. There are relatively rich exhibits in the main exhibition hall, but some important exhibits are in Bangkok.

Wat Sorasak
小小虫寵The Sorasak Temple is located within the city walls in the northern part of Sukhothai, near Tapa. The temple is famous for the elephants that are based on it. The original purpose of the land was to build a temple dedicated to the Governor, whose uncle was invited to live in the temple.
Wat Si Sawai
Ppxy0705The temple outside Xisha is also a very old temple in Sukhothai, but part of the temple is built later, so it has a modern Thai temple style. However, although the pagoda here endorses this life, it is actually quite a long history. It is also a new monument.
Wat Traphang Tong Lang
小小虫寵The Tonglan Temple site is located in the east of the city wall. The site is a quadrangle building, and the arched gate is on the exterior wall of the main hall. Unfortunately, the relief made of lime has almost peeled off. There are not many tourists from the temple. The best time is to come here in the evening and you can climb up to see the sunset.
