I struck gold with this hotel. I booked close to a company where I was to have a meeting the following day, so I didn't do a lot of research. The place is truly magnificent. The setting, scenery, the buildings, the rooms, all of it. The room was spacious and luxuriously furnished, with windows looking on to the infinity pool and the reservoir waters beyond, a view only partially blocked by a line of majestic palms. I was, astonishingly, the only guest (a Monday in November...), but was truly well looked after. Although the restaurant was ”closed”, Miguel (the chef), said he would prepare a dinner for me. What a delight for the senses. Excellent, creatively prepared food with local and seasonal ingredients. It was like having my own private chef for the evening. A very good night's sleep in a very quiet room, and a comfortable bed. The room has a massive TV, a huge split bathroom (double washbasin, shower, toilet), and is equipped with a coffee machine with a handful of capsules (I enjoyed a coffee on the terrace outside before I even went for breakfast). The service was impeccable. I realise that it was off-season and the room rate can be double what I paid, but even then it would be well worth the money. Thanks Miguel. For a 5* hotel, it needs improvement. It is not enough to have the Name and the classification. Small details that make all the difference. I don't know if the time is bad, but covid and crisis can't be an excuse for everything. And considering the price should have better service! Besides that there were few guests, so the dedication could be different. Good rooms, although somewhat damaged, double bed with 2 single mattresses, which could be more secure and adherent, in addition to the mattress protection, not comfortable, we know that there are more comfortable protections. Great light insulation, sound not really. Great shower! Nespresso machine in the room. PA very good, but for a 5* it should be great, eg boiled eggs and cheeses, already dried out. Platters to be replaced, it was always necessary to notify the employees. Nice SPA area, but the water was cold, and you need to make a reservation, but it was still full. It is not clear then why schedule an appointment. Access to the gym and the indoor pool, the water was also cold outside the hotel. Which with the cold is not pleasant at all. Staff friendliness in general. It is a good hotel to relax, due to its surroundings and the geographical area, which is quiet, with good access.
