I cannot complain! kudos to the Chef! the place itself is a gem! it's so beautiful! we initially booked the beach front but moved to the hilltop room which was in my opinion was better! it had an amazing view! if you decide to stay make sure you check out the whole resort! there are a lot of picture perfect spots! it was a lovely stay at Balay Kogon!

We had a great stay! Our room was clean and very comfortable. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. We love the pool and all the facilities. We enjoyed their gaming or recreational area as well (billiards, table tennis, etc). The bar is also great. We’ll definitely go back and visit again!

“Silent Hill” If you’re not familiar with this movie title, it was a horror film released in 2006. Our experience with Damires Hills was not as horrifying but more of a dreaded experience. Indeed, when we arrived at this nature retreat, we were welcomed by a silent breeze and the sound of distant chimes, gentle rustling of the tree leaves and occasional creaking sound of bamboo…which seemed relaxing and peaceful. Much like how horror films start. The horror started after checking in. We had some time to freshen up before a scheduled meeting, so we proceeded to our rooms. Upon entering you will be welcome by the musty stench of the room and when you open the tap and shower the odor of the water was a warning to not take this by mouth. They did provide two small bottles of bottled water, which was not enough after a long trip. Fortunately, the smell of the tap water improved after running the tap and shower for a few minutes. I also noticed the wooden soap holder which was full of molds while trying to freshen up. Then much to my surprise there were no available towels in the room. I had to request for this, which arrived 30 minutes after, that is after reminding them twice that no towels were provided. When the towels arrived, these were moist and had a certain odor like when laundry is not properly done. Upon unraveling the towel, it was tattered and full of stains that suggests this has not been laundered well or at least replaced if the stains were not removed after proper laundering. Good thing a brought an Arena quick dry sports towel for emergency use. Hurriedly, after a quick freshening up I proceeded to the meeting venue. We didn’t have time to check the beds and the cabinets to see what was lurking within. We had a decent lunch spread and mirienda during our meeting breaks. Nothing great. I was expecting Iloilo cuisine at its finest or at least dishes to remember since there was so much hype about Damires Hills. The forested areas were nice, but we noticed the pools were poorly maintained with unclear pool water and floating leaves. At night fall the pathways to our rooms and to another venue for dinner were poorly lighted and quite spooky. We had dinner near one of the pools which again was poorly lit and the dinner buffet was mediocre at best. One of my companions even commented that the dinner spread had no theme at all, just a mixture of dishes that didn’t please the palate. After the dinner, we had some short activities and fellowship. Our friends from Iloilo were so kind to bring some good pulutan for this. Together with the cold SMB this was a respite from previous disappointments with Damires HIlls. Apparently, the pool bar didn’t have any simple complimentary pika-pika like peanuts and the like. After a few hours, some of us decided to call it a night after a long day of travel and work meetings. Going back to the room, the musty smell had decreased after airing the room for about an hour. This is the time I noticed the cabinets

AAnonymous UserRoom is great overall. Facilities are great. Shower is good. Had a great quality time with friends during our stay.
Just had a little trouble with our check in since we have to wait a long time in the lobby just to verify the guest names since it was not forwarded by the property manager to the condo staff on time before we arrived.
Anyways we still had a great time.
LLehcar23We booked in this hotel because it has a family room and we haven't been here before. We were not expecting much as the price was cheapest among our other choices. However, we were a bit amazed of what it offers, from the courteous and helpful staff,to the spacious and clean family room.
The room was I think 40sq.m more or less, with 2 single beds and a sofa, small table with glasses and cups and saucers., a smart TV with wifi connection, and a toilet & bath, terrace, and another room with King bed and it's own toilet & bath, and terrace also. There were 2 air-conditioning units, 1 in the main room while the other 1 is in the masters bedroom. There were toiletries, towels, shower, bidet in the bathrooms. There was no ref nor oven but there's a water heater and welcome drinks (water & coffee😁).
The building was quite old but surprisingly clean, same with the curtains, towels and beddings.
There was an elevator going to our floor.
Outside, theres a swimming pool, a bar, a coffee shop and resto but we were not able to explore any of those since we were so excited to roam around the city as the hotel is in the Iloilo City Proper.
Its location was very accessible as the Jeep from Jaro to the downtown passes in front of the hotel, among other jeepneys.it is also walking distance to the Gaisano City Mall, St Clements Church, and a lot of shopping malls at the other side.
AAlanchuaWe came here with a 14 month old baby and had a great stay. The receptionist was helpful and it was pretty easy to get a cab to fetch the luggage to the airport that is within 500m away.
The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Overall, it was a good stay that enables travellers to reach the airport within 10 mins and have more rest before the trip.
As the airport is currently handling domestic flights, and there were only 3 gates for boarding, travellers can afford to sleep in a little and arrive at the Airport a little later since the airport is just 5 to 10 mins away.
Bbluepurse99Stayed here for 2 nights of May 11 & 12. The restaurants, massage place, grocery stores, malls are near so the traffic for cars and people is kind of heavy. Parking was spacious. We were given room 810. The room was spacious and bright. Bed and pillows were very good. Basic toiletries were provided and was topped up everyday. But a window was without a safety latch that can cause danger especially to children. They only provided bath towels but no hand or face towels and they will charge 50pesos for each if you ask for it. The toilet tissue paper was too thin. Shower glass was not properly cleaned. Noises from the street and hallway can be heard. TV stations were of local channels only.

AAleksandr P.We returned to this hotel again from Gigantes Island and stayed for another 3 days. We were satisfied with everything, the only bad thing was that there were strong low tides in the sea. The staff is very responsive and attentive. There is shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper and bottled water in the room, the breakfast is very filling and tasty.
Iimkhrissssssaccesible location
service- needs to improve , be more accomodating to your customers
must check if the room is okay before the customer go inside the room

WWyNe NetteA place for a quick stop for travellers who just wanted to take a rest for a day, then travel again the following day.. The room and bathroom are also clean, enough cabinets for clothes but no table..
AAdan QueselThe location is good near the school where we were assigned to take the exam.
The only problem is water.
But the staff from the guard front desk and house keeping are always smiling and ready for guest requests
LlinikitThrough Trip.com this was an extremely low budget expense and we surely got what we paid for. We only paid for a place to sleep and not looking to enjoy any amenities. So, the wi-fi signal was barely a blip every few seconds but we had purchased a ”pocket wi-fi”. Water pressure was not consistent but we've had the background of using a water scoop to take showers. The water tank for the toilet leaked when used but the water was unused and clean so it was tolerable. The AC unit was a 5,000 btu (smallest, I think) so it was good for the nights rest but may not be enough during daytime but we never stayed-in on those times. There was no microwave nor toilet paper provided, but we had brought with us toilet paper. So in short, it was by no means at par with many hotels at all, but sometimes we do need these lower rung hotels for travel according to our needs. Would we book with them again? Depends on our purposes. And I am still thankful that I had a pillow to lay my head on at night safely.

Calle Real
WWin BkkLooking back in time, I can feel the vibe and influence of the trade along "Calle Real" or in the present day JM Basa Street. However, the charm of the historical buildings today is deteriorating probably due to lack of maintenance.
Museo Iloilo
WWin BkkSmall museum about brief history of Philippines and Iloilo. You can see some artefacts related to each period. Admission PHP50 for adults. If you are into deep information, you can skip this place.
Jaro Cathedral
山山南张辽I pass by this place every day and I didn't know it was a tourist attraction.
There is a flower market opposite this church. The culture of Iloilo is more similar to that of China, not as chaotic as Manila. The church doesn't require tickets.
If you want to go, you can take a jeepney from Chinatown to CPU or Robinson
