The location in the city center is fantastic, and the restaurant and bar downstairs is nice. The hotel staff were super friendly, kind and attentive. However, the rooms are cramped, dirty and do not have ac. It was so hot up there and we had to leave the windows open, resulting in bug bites and restless sleep. For the price, I didn’t expect to sleep in such terrible conditions…

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and spacious, clean room. The restaurant was great as well, along with the included hot breakfast every morning. The only thing odd was the balcony room looking down over the wide open bedroom in the apartment next door. We could see the person sleeping in their bed.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Haarlem, a good 35-minute walk to the central square. There is very little around it in terms of shops or cafes or restaurants. So calling it ”Haarlem City” is a bit of a stretch! It is a 12-minute walk (through a nice residential area) to Bloemendaal train station, which makes it quite easy to get to Amsterdam. Haarlem's main train station is about a 25-minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and good size. But (and this is a big but!) the hotel was built right next to a big sports centre and if your room faces north it will block your window as it is literally in front of it. This is a really poor design choice, it makes affected rooms feel claustrophobic. This is something the hotel should make clear at the time of booking. Parking in front of the hotel costs 7.5 Euros per night. Given its non-central location, you would expect parking to be free. So mixed feelings overall. Nice and spacious rooms, but the issues I mentioned above detract from the overall experience and value for money.

Thé Niu Dairy has all the modern conveniences you need. Rooms are bright, airy, good-sized, clean, with a comfie bed, great shower, elevator if needed, room safe large enough to fit laptop or I Pad plus other valuables, luggage shelf, small desk, decent lighting. The friendly staff was incredibly helpful and went the extra mile to make sure your needs were met. I would stay here again. Tips to improve the experience: Provide soap that is easier to use (bathroom soap was in a dispenser that had to be squeezed, which might be difficult for some folks). A grab bar in the shower would be a helpful safety addition. We older travellers think about these amenities. And perhaps vary your breakfast items a bit. Thanks!

This is an an excellent hotel with easy access to Amsterdam. We travelled on the RNet bus from Schipol airport directly to the hotel. The railway station across the square from the hotel gives you 30 minute access into Amsterdam. Also great access to Haarlem a lovely town a mini version of Amsterdam without the crowds. The rooms are clean and modern. Staff very helpful and cheerful. We had a very relaxing 3 night stay here. The only negative the hot breakfast scrambled egg bacon and sausage needs to be kept hot it was cold and on cold plates not great. Good choice of continental foods breads waffles etc.

Very Good

This was the most luxurious place I've ever stayed (a travel agent picked it for us). But not only that, it was stylishly quirky and original with the layout, their font type, and the decor both inside and outside the building. It is an architectural wonder. Our driver told us it was the old transportation headquarters for Amsterdam and now there are strict rules around the hotel changing any of the old decor. This is good because I've never seen anything like it. The dining area has a stained-glass ceiling! The breakfast buffet was incredibly stocked, both with traditional Dutch and American styled food. There was rolled up salmon, chocolate filled croissants, an actual honeycomb from a bee-hive, cheeses and meats that were misted to stay moist, and soft-boiled eggs as well as scrambled eggs. We alternated the sauna with the cold shower to massage our weary legs and felt 10 times better the next day. The only thing is I wish they educated us how to drain the tub. From an American standpoint it was unfamiliar and not intuitive. But other than that we had a perfect stay.
