Hotel is clean and basic. Staff service was alright, not particularly outstanding. We stayed in their standard room and deluxe room. Standard room has no fridge and slightly smaller. Deluxe room has a fridge which totally not cold, and separate shower and toilet area. Not worth it to pay extra for the deluxe room. Basic toiletries like toothbrush, one shower cap and shower gel, shampoo is provided. Towels and pillow limited to 2 per room, but u can request for extra pillow. No hand towel or other amenities (comb, sanitary bag) provided. Water pressure and temp is good. Wifi is slow, small tv. Some room has smoking smell, though non smoking floor. Didn’t try the restaurant. They have a 7-11 beside which is the added plus point. Need to drive out for food or other activities. KSL about 5-10 mins drive. For the price, it is a very basic hotel.

Consistent with brand standards, bulk-size amenities are provided here at the Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre and while I do appreciate the positive impact these initiatives have on the environment, the body wash bottles located by the shower area were empty when I checked-in to the room. The opaque bottles definitely make it hard for housekeeping to check whether a top-up is required so this is quite certainly a pain point for everyone.
Affordable and modern rooms in a great location make Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre a great choice for travellers from Singapore without private transport.

We came during the Haji holiday weekend. The room was basic and dated but has everything you need. The only major issue I have was the toilet which was equipped with a very strong shower but its too strong due to water pressure so its hard to have a proper shower without wetting the whole bathroom. Hopefully there would be rectifications to the shower stand to adjust it better in future. Location was pretty good as there are several eateries nearby opened till late into the night. The hotel even has a minimart downstairs. It is only about 8-10 minute drive from Komtar JBCC

GGuest UserLove the people at the front desk, they are always so happy and friendly. Check-in took a bit longer than usual but the staff were very apologetic. I stayed in the Urban room at level 12 facing the highway and river. To my surprise it was rather quiet I can’t really hear the traffic. Morning breakfast at level 6 was pretty crowded. The next morning I just went down earlier and it was great. The girls at breakfast were always happy to welcome us… keep it up 👍

Carpark is behind the front of the hotel but staff was very helpful to show us with map on how to get there in 2 minutes.
Overall, the room is clean BUT there were 2-3 table tops which were sticky, we had to clean it ourselves, looks like sweet residue. There were also ants on the sink area & wall in 2 single-bedded bedroom. We are glad we had the privacy of 2 separate rooms, but we kept them opened. There is no view outside the window but we are okay with it. We still like it though as staff were very prompt, polite & helpful. We can feel the hospitality. There is a reasonable size gym with variety of equipment but no swimming pool. Maybe during checkout can remind us to let the counter tap our Touch & Go for complimentary parking, luckily there were many posters at the lobby to remind us to do so. Breakfast buffet was included, the spread is reasonable and the food was good considering its included in the room. Thumbs-up for the price which trip.com offer with my coins. Thank you Holiday Inn Express & Suites JB, we will visit again soon.

NNazz ElmiThis is our 4th staying here. We chowed this place because of the close location to Bukit Indah. We always had our dinner at the dinner right after check in. The next morning breakfast was similar. They didn’t served omelette so a little disappointed but the rest of the dish was ok ok. But anyway, we love to come back here because of free parking and close proximity to the mall.

DDavid Geh, MBABooked this hotel for a short trip with my family to jb. The room was very clean and nice. One of the cleanest rooms I have ever booked. The mattress was on a raised platform instead of a normal bed frame which made it unique. The view from the room was quite nice too. Couldn't figure out how the TV work so didn't use it. Check in and check out was smooth and parking there was plenty. U need to download the mbjb spot app and reload rm20 min to park tho... Near to IKEA, toppen, aeon, lotus and many eateries around.
The only drawback was my room was facing the back lane and I dunno whether there was a shop which opened till 1-2am and either patrons or staff standing and hangout out in the back lane talking loudly until 1-2am which made sleeping difficult. After they closed only the noise disappeared. There were Overall I enjoyed my overnight stay here and would definitely book again. The price is very reasonable.

GGuest UserIn terms of location, it is located in the peripherals of a housing estate and the front of the hotel faces the main road which makes crossing the road difficult. There is nothing else near the hotel, i.e. no eateries or shops or malls. The size of the room is considered small, although the bed is comfortable. Other than these 2 shortcomings, it is not too bad a stay. Staff in the hotel are polite and helpful. The housekeeping does a decent job and room is clean. I think they even spray fragrance on the pillows which make them smell good. The wifi is good. I like the design of the lobby, which gives a warm feeling with sofas and counter which they serve simple breakfast. Although the room does not come with breakfast, the hotel does provide simple breakfast, which comprise of bread, biscuits, half-boiled eggs, cup noodles in addition to coffee and tea and flavoured drinks. I find this a very nice touch. There is an Italian restaurant that serves Italian food as well as some local food. There is also a pub, which does creates some noise on a Saturday evening as they do have music on until about 1am. Although it does not cause too much disturbance even though we stayed on the second floor. Price wise, I would regard this as reasonable.

MMatchaulatteThe place is quite convinient. Near the immigration. It is behind the zenith mall. Since we didnt take the room without wondows, we were staying at the basement. It is a no frill kind of room. Clean enough, the walls are a little bit thin, you can hear people showering but it is ok as it not so bad. Have some toiletries and towels which is really good. Towels are also provided and water as well. I would highly recommend this place for those staying for a night and are in a budget. If you have more room for spending, you can try the room with windows, it looks bigger and much more airy

KKoolweeNo disposable slippers and hand towels. TV images were fuzzy and there was no sound from one channel. However, extra hangers, one toilet roll and some toiletries were given promptly upon calling the Housekeeping. A parking fee of RM4 was charged when we tapped out of the carpark even though the card was validated at the counter. However, the buffet lunch and Hi-tea were delightful and we hope to win the lucky draw.

High quality rooms (there was even a tv by the shower), and high quality service. Also, they are one of few hotels that allow people under 21 to book a reservation.

Don't understand why have to pay the tourism tax where it was indicated all taxes included and some hotels don't even collect any tourism tax at all.
