Hotel in an optimal location. About 15 minutes walk from the center with normal steps, and comfortable to access the motorway. Rooms with simple furnishings but still with all the comforts. Also equipped with private parking, which during our stay was included in the price of the room . It is clear that a recent renovation of both rooms and common parts (halls, breakfast rooms, bars, etc...) has made the hotel modern and elegant. The hotel staff, Vincenzo Botta, has always made available for any needs and has always been able to demonstrate the level of the situation. As well as the reception staff, always careful, educated and kind. As regards breakfast, it is a continental type of excellent quality and variety. I would certainly advise him who comes to Lucca for a few days of holiday or for work.

Spectacular in every way! This one of a kind boutique property is absolutely gorgeous. Every detail and comfort is here! My husband and I feel like we are in Tuscan heaven. We don’t ever want to leave. We have traveled all over Italy and this property by far exceeds any other hotel residence. We also noticed several recognizable faces staying here but only saw them at glance entering the building because each residence/room is very private. No more staying in Florence - Lucca and Grand Universe is our new home away from home. Staff goes above and beyond as well. I almost forgot - a butler is on sight to handle any special needs. Breakfasts at their sister property a few doors down The Grand Universe Lucca is also amazing.

Lovely small hotel in a great location in Lucca. We picked Lucca as a visit spot bc there was a Marriott there (we were traveling on points) and BOY are we glad we did. Not only was the hotel great but we just fell in love with the town itself. But the hotel...modern and bright with a lively staff, it served as a wonderful refreshing spot for us to use as we explored Lucca. The rooms were quite small. But they were clean and modern and had everything we would need to be comfortable. Breakfast offered either a small buffet or menu service with healthy bountiful options. Prices were delightfully low at the hotel restaurant. Don't miss the opportunity to borrow bikes from the hotel to ride around the top of the wall. It was a highlight of our whole trip. Seeing Lucca from ”above” while in the shade and among Lucca's locals with their children, dogs or families, enjoying their circular circumferential park. Note that bikes are only offered until 6pm which is when the heat finally breaks and you WANT to go back outside (that was a bummer).

Great location with onsite free parking just outside the city wall. Rooms were well decorated with comfortable beds and good sitting areas as well plenty of towels. It was quieter than we’d expected and the little garden looked like an oasis for the summer. The staff were very helpful, recommending key places to visit and giving good, inexpensive dinner recommendations. The property overall is characterful. The breakfast room was rather dark and breakfast itself leaned heavily to sweet stuff, something we found elsewhere in Italy. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this place, especially for a one nighter closeish to Pisa.

Rrvpfdzrbv48Loved this property. Couldn’t ask for better with the location. We walked to everything. Lucca is not huge but it was good to be in a spot that was fairly quiet at night. We were there for 4 nights that went over a weekend. There was a bar at the end of the street where a LOT of people gathered and there was noise from there but the minute the window was closed you could not really hear them. It was hot weather but the room was cool even with the windows shut so all good. There are restaurants and cafes close by and it is a short walk to the Piazza Anfiteatro where you are spoilt for dining options. Our room, Flora, was big. The bed was very comfortable, water was hot, WiFi was good and there is a fridge. The establishment itself is quiet. We couldn’t hear other guests at all. The included breakfast is very good. Plenty to choose from and should suit everyone. It set us up for the day. The only thing we would have liked was having access to make a cup of tea outside of breakfast hours. Not a complaint but it would have been nice. We didn’t have a car so I can’t comment on the parking area but it was an easy taxi ride from Lucca station. The hosts were amazing. Very helpful and friendly.we would definitely recommend a stay here.

GGuest UserIn this living room I tried two out of three rooms: very large, spacious, equipped with everything, including coffee machine, boiler, caramels and a pleasant appetizer kit with potatoes and analcohol drink. We enjoyed it in the small garden furnished with tables and chairs, and impressed by small lamps and wires of sunlights. Then, by name and fact, the common bathroom and the private bathroom were well cleaned, provided with dispenser with shampoo, bathroom and even balsam. At the entrance a filtered water boiler always available to fill glasses and But the real girl in this place is the courtesy of Cristian, who provided us with photos with indications to reach the structure, photos to walk in the centre, information useful to dine out or for events in Lucca. In other words, very organized and always available for guests' requests. Interesting and comfortable self-checking! Recommended!!!! One note (Light is out of the walls): watch taxis if you have the train early morning: they don't accept bookings and We found no one available for arrival at the station 40 minutes earlier.

Lovely small hotel in a great location in Lucca. We picked Lucca as a visit spot bc there was a Marriott there (we were traveling on points) and BOY are we glad we did. Not only was the hotel great but we just fell in love with the town itself. But the hotel...modern and bright with a lively staff, it served as a wonderful refreshing spot for us to use as we explored Lucca. The rooms were quite small. But they were clean and modern and had everything we would need to be comfortable. Breakfast offered either a small buffet or menu service with healthy bountiful options. Prices were delightfully low at the hotel restaurant. Don't miss the opportunity to borrow bikes from the hotel to ride around the top of the wall. It was a highlight of our whole trip. Seeing Lucca from ”above” while in the shade and among Lucca's locals with their children, dogs or families, enjoying their circular circumferential park. Note that bikes are only offered until 6pm which is when the heat finally breaks and you WANT to go back outside (that was a bummer).

GGuest UserHotel La Luna was just a lovely place to stay whilst we explored Lucca and the surrounding area. It was very well located for the Centro Storico, only a couple of hundred yards from the Piazza Antifeatro. The rooms were very comfortable (especially the beds) and were always kept clean and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in the hotel and they were very attentive to guests. There was a good range of foods available for breakfast each day from pastries and cakes to boiled eggs to the traditional cooked meats and cheeses. All in all a very pleasant stay.

GGuest UserWe spent 2 nights at Hotel Stella d'Italia, I booked a 3 stars hotel knowing I couldn't expect a luxury environment but, despite an average general evaluation, I cannot avoid to underline some very disappointing details: 1) the sink in the bathroom was badly cracked (see photos); 2) the air conditioning was extremely noisy (one night I woke up looking in the street thinking some works were in progress; 3) in the shower box there are no place for soap and shampoo, I ended up putting them on the floor and bending every time I needed them, quite uncomfortable; 4) in the bathroom there are no hooks or other way to hang the wet towels. These points are quite basic and should be available even at 3 stars hotels (or less).
