Apartment: Extremely clean and directly overlooking the Adriatic. You can rely on the pictures from the website. We rented apartment #2 Lavender. Microwave, coffee machine, fridge, stovetop and all good quality ustensiles/pots to prepare a vacation quality meal. We did not use the Air Conditioning due to confortable weather and breeze from patio doors, during this period. TV is also provided. We did not explore, we were at location to enjoy the patio and Adriatic. Table is available inside and on the patio with umbrella provided. Beautiful sun all day and sunset. Good size bathroom We already knew that apartment provided 1 bedroom with 2 single beds plus a couch to be opened in the living room. Not an issue for us. On vacation, we are very relaxed customers. Free parking space provided by the apartment. Location: Residential or an oasis of quietness in the turbulent (very?) Dubrovnik. Walking to old town could be between 15 - 25 minutes, depending on individual. Very agreeable walk with interesting Adriatic views along the way, charming old houses with beautiful cascading flowers. We walked slowly and took some pictures of sceneries...what is the rush? Once you leave the apartment street and turn for the Old Town, there are 3 large hotels (with all amenities and taxi stand) 2 corner store groceries and 1 local bakery with long opening hours. Near Pile Gate (Old Town Entrance), there is a very good bakery with all types of fresh sandwiches available. Restaurants nearby: We went to Pizzeria El Toro twice. Good menu choice, indoor or outdoor seatings. Very good service, wine, beer and food. We eat fresh SeaBass grilled perfectly with fries. We did not try the restaurant facilities of nearby hotels. Magellan Restaurant and Caffee Bar was recommended. But we did not try. With the exception of Old Town or major hotels, Dubrovnik does not offer many sea view local restaurants. Madonna restaurant is also very good in Lapad area. Not walking distance from Kate’s place and no sea view. However, next to a Mega Kozum, where you can pick-up variety of groceries for a longer stay. Lapad area has more hotels and apartments. Otherwise, nothing special and very far from Old Town. Transportation is required. Mrs Kate: Great host. Always available but never intrusive. Very dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. Welcoming with beverage of your choice, Dubrovnik map review and a constant source of local information. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on our terrace the last night together at her invitation and truly enjoyed her company. GRUZ Bay: Port of arrival for cruise ships. Lots of coffee bars, banks, restaurants, Mega Pemo Grocery store. Very lively and more local then tourist. We walked from apartment. 30-45 minutes each way. Not recommended, if you do not wish to explore or enjoy walking, like we do. Surprisingly, nothing special in this area. We were glad that we had elected not to rent an apartment in this area. Everything was great - fabulous location and breakfast, the staff was super pleasant and we had great views - the only thing I would change is the bed was a little hard - I know some people like that but was too hard for me! Also - I’ve seen this comment before but you have to be able to walk up several flights of stairs with your luggage and you cannot Uber or taxi directly to the hotel - it’s about a 5 minute walk + the stairs from the nearest drop off. Absolutely worth it for the view and location but just a heads up if that’s a no for you or if you need wheelchair access! In the photos are a view from the hotel balcony for breakfast and the hotel from the other side of the beach! Gorgeous!

Although the hotel is not large, but the location is convenient, the hotel elevator goes straight to a small beach and can swim. Hotel service is very warm, arrived at the hotel at noon, although the room is not cleaned for a while, the hotel will send complimentary drinks, while enjoying the sea view and rest. The hotel’s restaurant is Michelin II and you can taste it without leaving home.

The Royal Palm is set a little outside the city alongside the coast in a complex of three other ‘royal’ hotels that provided a number of bars and restaurants to choose from throughout the day. This choice extends to the pools and gyms as well. Lovely well appointed and clean rooms. The en suite was well equipped and modern. Great sea views as well. The staff both in the restaurant and reception couldn’t have been more helpful. First time in Croatia. Lovely country, Dubrovnik city was really Beautiful. Most days busy from the cruise ships but its didn’t detract from the place.

We stayed here for 5 nights during our visit to Dubrovnik and were sorry to leave. Don’t believe the negative reviews here as there are some people impossible to please. Hilton should make this hotel the standard for service and quality. We’ve been on the road since April and staying in Hilton hotels around Europe and UK, and none have matched the quality and service this one has and for the same price I might add. Every Hilton we stay in (except this one) the air conditioning does not work, or the elevators don’t work, or the shower floods the bathroom… their coffee machines are crap, and their food is second rate. None of that here. The breakfast (included in the cost of the room) was fabulous… they have espresso machines, so you can have a cappuccino, fresh squeezed orange juice, a variety of breads, champagne, and the food is fresh and of high quality. The rooms are spacious, modern, well decorated, and have all the amenities one can need. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The location could not be more convenient with just a 3 min walk to Pile Gate (main entrance to Old Town). The staff is very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The people servicing the rooms are lovely and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. The hotel can exchange money for a very small percentage which is better than any exchange place you can find in town. We highly recommend this hotel.
