Enjoyed our stay at Angelina’s Rooms typical Greek apartments; a little dated, but spacious enough and spotlessly clean. We had a ground floor studio (room 2) facing the pool area, I was a little worried about bugs/cockroaches being in ground floor but luckily didn’t have any. The rooms have basic kitchenette, table and chairs, dressing table and chair, plus spacious wardrobes, bedside drawers and terrace with outdoor table and chairs. The shower was a little dodgy - water overflowed onto the floor and there was also a slight smell of drains when you entered the room due to the bathroom - this would be my only complaint but is common in Greece in the very hot weather. Air con was good and included in the price. Staff were friendly, breakfast basic but was always something to have and there were no sunbed wars. Could always get one no matter the time of day. Location is ideal in the canal Damour area surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. Would recommend for a budget friendly break :)

Just returned from our second stay, and unfortunately we won’t be back. We are a couple, mid-fifties, who have travelled a lot, and know from experience the hospitality industry is very hard and often unappreciated- so with that said we like to make an effort to be friendly and fair with staff we come across. This year, we noticed a big difference in service. All the other recent reviews note obvious plus’s - very clean hotel / decent stylish rooms / pool loungers comfortable / nice relaxing atmosphere/ pool spotless clean / 15mins away from the main ***** / 5 mins from the better restaurants (The 50/50, Family, Meraki ) & Handy supermarket across the street. So I won’t go into same detail again there - in general we’d agree. (Pool gets deep very quickly mind you) Not sure we’d agree with 4* - but that’s just our opinion. I’m sure there’s a criteria they meet. The new addition rooms are lovely. This time we were overlooking the carpark, room fine, shower very poor pressure,shower head clogged so spray direction was basically ’everywhere’ , no hairdryer, air con was good but kept going off at intervals, which we reported. After follow up call (it was 30degrees!) reception girl came and showed us a knack to get it back on but assured us it would be fixed. Fine for a day or two but began happening again, reported it but to no avail. We just put up with using the ‘trick’ with the sliding door for the rest of our stay. Power cuts on arrival were unfortunate, and couple of times over next day or two (obv not hotels fault) but would have expected a generator at least - in a 4* hotel? Especially when water for showers /loo’s stopped working. We were without power from arrival at 3.30 until midnight. Other hotels could operate? The breakfast is poor quality but, as we only ventured down the odd day, it was sufficient for us. Worst juice & coffee I ever had though. Lunch menus ok, although ‘Greek’ offers weren’t good, omelettes were decent, didn’t bother having dinner there. Minimum entertainment but again that suited us- so just to note. Greek night we did last year so didn’t bother this year, not our thing really. But back to the service. The owners really need to lead by example in being welcoming to guests in our opinion. It’s a small enough front of house team, and as I said we know it’s hard work, but c’mon a SMILE wouldn’t go amiss? The lovely lady who cleaned around the pool area made the MOST effort, always saying a friendly hello. As others have mentioned Gia was helpful and pleasant, Angelos the same. Vasilli could be an undertaker..zero customer service skills and bordering rude on occasions. The lady owner floats about (mostly barely acknowledging guests) and I’ve seen her speak very rudely to her staff often in front of guests - a big no no for me. Pros- Staff were friendly and helpful. New Manager joined the hotel 2 months ago and he is very hands on, helping out with whatever was needed. Our room was large and clean (floors swept and washed every day), the bed was comfortable, Aircon was excellent and shower was hot and powerful. Our towels were changed every day and we were even left extras on some days. Sheets were changed regularly. They provided little slippers in sealed bags in case you didn’t want to walk on the bare floor. The lock on the door also had a deadlock facility. Wi-Fi was excellent, I assume the nearer you are to the main building the better it is. There are safety deposit boxes, but they are not in the rooms. If you ask at reception they will provide you with a safety deposit box in a cabinet, in a side room which has two locks. You keep one key and the receptionist has the other, no payment is needed. Both keys are needed to open the boxes. Local spirits are available in the All Inclusive package besides beer and wine, you just have to ask them as it’s not advertised. The first 5 cocktails on their menu cards are also included in the All Inclusive package. Courtesy shuttle bus from Hotel to Sidari are at 10am and 3pm. Return trips at 1.30pm and 7pm. There are also regular buses from Sidari to Corfu Town, but beware they get very busy in both directions. Driving in Corfu is not for the faint hearted! Pool is nice but the drainage slats around the sides need replacing with a stronger version. Peaceful area to sun bathe and a small bar from 3pm. Cons- Public toilets in the hotel never seemed to have paper towels to dry your hands on. Serviettes from the restaurant were in great demand for this purpose. The hotel is a bit out of the way and although you can walk from the hotel to Sidari, it was often too hot. I notice people saying it’s only a 25-minute walk but it took us 45 minutes plus. You need to be either young or very fit (or both) to walk that quickly, in that heat. You also have to walk on some very narrow pavements, but mainly in the road. The real problem with this hotel is the restaurant and the lack of staff. The male receptionist is also the bar person and helps out in the restaurant as well. There are not enough staff in the Restaurant to keep an eye on what is running out and needs replacing. Which means that the guests are forever asking for cutlery, butter, milk etc. There’s only a little 2-piece toaster (I shudder to think of the queue for that in high season) and only 1 hot drink machine, which is used by the guests all day, so you can imagine how often that needs topping up or fixing. To be fair they do top up quickly when they are told and fix it as quickly as they can. The food is repetitive and most meals are usually chicken or pork. What isn’t used in the evening is more often than not used at lunchtime the next day, either the same as the night before or dressed up with a sauce or different seasonings.
