We stayed a couple of weeks ago before our cruise. Although the price seemed high it was still the cheapest around. Was basic but you know what you get with a Travelodge. Room was clean and had all we needed/expected. Outside area was nice and well kept. If i had 1 grumble it would be how hot the rooms are. Unlike other guests we are fully aware that this is not the hotels fault - they do not control the weather but do do all they can ie- fans already on in rooms when we arrive. We arrived early and was greeted by Kirsty the hotel manager who very kindly offered us some cold bottled water and helped me and my wife with our bags. We will return again should the need arise.

GGuest UserWe stayed in the Tree House for three nights This was our fourth visit and everything was absolutely fantastic. I would say that Chewton Glen have really improved their standards The tree house was so comfortable and relaxing, possibly the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in We loved the laid back atmosphere and hot tub on the balcony Breakfasts were great, much better now as you can add hot items to the hamper which already has a lovely cold selection Our meal in the newly decorated ( much more modern) dining room was excellent The refurbished spa looked modern and up to date , we had some treatments which were great Although the hotel was fully booked it never felt too busy or hectic Above all, the improvement in staff was most noticeable. Without exception, everyone was brilliant, especially in the lovely bar Can’t wait to come back again

GGuest UserHaving stayed here many many times pre pandemic we were so excited about returning. Check in was good and the room lovely but the service and food quality was abysmal. We sat in the garden - tried to order drinks at the bar and told it was table service only which is fine if someone took your order! Went into the bar and relied to order 2 drinks with a waitress who said she would have to come to our table for me to order - will give her her due she did follo me to our table! Waited 15 for the drinks. Then ordered our food A rib eye steak and fillet of sea bass with a prawn and clam chowder. This arrived after 10 minutes - the sea bass was completely different from the menu description- apparently we had been given the wrong specials menu so what else did my husband want. He said he would have the original offering as we had been travelling all day and were tired - this was then returned stone cold! My 8oz rib eye steak had at least 45% sinew and was inedible.when the staff came to clear the table I requested a manager - a young lad turned up who just said I see what you mean!! Nothing or no one else seemed to care so we went to bed extremely upset and at a cost of nearly £200 a night we really expected a more professional approach to customers- whilst I appreciate uni students need summer jobs but when there is no one at all supervising the result is dire for a business such as this. We even listened to 2 staff members discussing their uni accommodation etc etc when at least 8 tables were waiting to be served. Breakfast service was totally different- the staff clearly knew what they were doing and did si in an efficient, help, and more importantly, friendly way. Would recommend you go out of school/ uni holidays as no one else is around to ensure the job is done professionally.

GGuest UserWe were lucky to have been given a voucher for dinner bed and breakfast staying at burley lodge for one night. The date was booked and email confirmation received for our stay on 4th July. We were looking forward to a night away from our busy lives, but by using the voucher it meant we had to use 2 days annual leave, I now feel I wish I hadn’t….. When we arrived we were told no room was booked even though we had email confirmation, finally after a wait and told to sit in the bar (no offer of a drink while we waited) the lady returns and after several more minutes of typing on the system she managed to find a room for us. Apparently head office booked the room for 14th July We had a garden suite booked, we were told that it was a garden suite room she had found for us. However the room didn’t have a bath (As we don’t have a bath at home this was something I was looking forward to) as it was an accessible room only, we had a problem with the shower not turning off, leaking and running all Night, it was reported but no one was available to fix it, the lady did attend the room with towels which we used to try and prevent being woken all night with water non stop running. to. I’d also add the decking area and outside furniture didn’t look like it has ever been cleaned, and high level cleaning in the rooms clearly gets missed. We had a 3 course dinner included in our package (thank goodness as I can’t believe your prices!! I think a tiny cheesecake cake with a blob of ice cream was £12 absolute daylight robbery. I was also not impressed that the £23 steak came with a salad…. Chips are an extra £5 I mean come on that’s an absolute joke. The service was slow but the staff seemed new, and we were told lots of management changes were happening hence new staff not really knowing what was happening. Onto breakfast…. I’m sorry to say but this was a shambles and probably the worst I’ve had in a hotel, travel lodge is 100 times better! Clearly not enough staff and I really did feel for the staff, where are the managers supporting on the shop floor? Vey understaffed for whatever reason. Is this a cost saving or has everyone left? one girl was her first day from an agency (id be surprised if she comes back!) being told off and told what not to do etc, don’t they get any training prior to starting ? , how do we know this because we kept getting told by her and the other lady how it was her first day etc. It was really awkward all round I’d compare it to Fawley towers!! and the other lady looked like she was going to burst into tears due to the stress of racing about trying to do everything, she had to take coffee orders, food orders, serve food etc. it was all very stressful to be honest. One lady in a suit did arrive however I witnessed her telling the two staff off in front of some customers but they were trying their best. Another point is no beans… I get beans are not offered on the menu for whatever reason? but surely in any English br

We stayed a couple of weeks ago before our cruise. Although the price seemed high it was still the cheapest around. Was basic but you know what you get with a Travelodge. Room was clean and had all we needed/expected. Outside area was nice and well kept. If i had 1 grumble it would be how hot the rooms are. Unlike other guests we are fully aware that this is not the hotels fault - they do not control the weather but do do all they can ie- fans already on in rooms when we arrive. We arrived early and was greeted by Kirsty the hotel manager who very kindly offered us some cold bottled water and helped me and my wife with our bags. We will return again should the need arise.
