Checking in at the main Oddfellows hotel was smooth but it would have helped to have the exact address of the apartment in advance, so we could park more easily. There is one parking space at the apartment but it is a tight entrance!
Apartment 5 was upstairs and very spacious. The lounge/kitchen/diner was well set up and the tea and coffee available was very welcome. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large, comfy and clean (but could do with a few hooks for towels or coats). There is even a laundry room. Decof is quirky and the location is great - just off the main streets. Fabulous place to stay.
Very Good

Great Hotel, with lovely rooms ( I tad dated for some tastes). Service was first class, with a lovely meal in the brasserie eaten. Breakfast is high standard with good old table service, the brasserie is a lovely room for meals. Wife had a massage in the spa, which was one of the best she had had!
Car park near Hotel, cases taken to room, staff very friendly and more than happy to help.
Location right in the middle of Chester for close access to shops, Bars and restaurants
Only Negative, Breakfast could have been hotter. And added service charges to bill automatically.
Drinks are very expensive, but to be expected for a 5 start Hotel
This hotel has a lot of excellent points * location on a main road into the city. * Free secure on site Parking. * Our room was beautifully decorated with an upscale shower room. * Although the hotel is on a main road we weren't disrburbed at night when traffic was light. * A 5 minute walk from a variety of restaurants ( a guide/list /map would be good ) * The Breakfast was fine except for one glaring problem. We were constantly hassled to choose our cooked dish which arrived when we still eating fruit etc so it sat getting cold. The lady server was little short of rude. One American visitor said ”Hey, Ma'am, I'm on holiday, let me relax and take my time over breakfast” Exactly our feeling,
Positives Position Excellent position centre of Chester five minute walk into Chester town centre. Staff all really friendly couldn’t fault them. That for me is where the positives end! Sorry but other than that I have nothing positive to say about it. For the price sorry just not good enough. Breakfast inedible the only thing I ate sorry drank on the first morning was a glass of orange juice other than that everything else cold, toast like rubber and cold, the eggs well I can’t even describe what they were like! I did think when the member of staff came to take the plates she might have asked why we hadn’t eaten anything but no ? No questions asked! So I guess she wasn’t surprised! Awful is the only word I can use to describe it. Second morning not much better managed to eat a croissant and that was about it! Not enough choice either poor show for the price you pay. The room no USB Charging pointing? Surely a norm these days? A lack of sockets full stop no sockets one side of the bed so I had my husbands laptop lead across my back while he was using it good job I had bought an extension lead with us! No socket near the mirror? How do you dry your hair when there is no plug anywhere near the mirror? Who designs these rooms? The room was not what I would call clean could have done with a better clean, also pillow case ripped? I could go on but I don’t think it will make any difference. Also had to pay for parking which I then heard them say to somebody “if you book directly through us you don’t have to pay for parking” ! Very disappointed in our stay would I stay here again definitely not I would rather use a Premier Inn I know what I am getting and I can get a fresh breakfast from where I want when I want and not have to book a table the night before at a certain time when I am on my holiday and don’t want to have to set an alarm to get up!
The hotel is a lovely Tudor building , lovely staff and hotel . I was there with partner and friends for weekend in Chester. Friday we went to Alexander’s comedy club , my first time in a comedy club absolutely brilliant. It was my daughters Hen and stag do but classy one followed by races on the Saturday. Anyway back to the hotel , the hotel was lovely our room looked out onto the coffee shop on the Main Street and noise from party/drinkers on nights out till 3am then delivery at 5.30. The rooms around us all seem to have the same problem creaking old floor and beds. Saying that it was a lovely stay and I would stay again but ask for a different room. Morning breakfast was cereal, fruit juice, choice of cooked breakfasts for all needs. You’ve got to have a cooked breakfast when away from home.

Excellent
GGuest UserLovely fully equipped apartment. Was surprised to see such a gem just 5 mins away from the city centre. Endless supply of coffee, hot chocolate and water from the reception, and fresh Croissant provided for breakfast.
This can be for long or short stays as it has all required kitchen equipment. The air conditioner works really well, iron, ironing board, a safe for keeping items, and multiple wall socket points.
Parking is £10 overnight and wifi with good strength.
A study/work table is also available .
Truly loved it and can't wait to stay here again
SSaraThe check in process was quite slow with no information provided nd there was no secure luggage storage until the 3pm check in. Thw bag was placed in reception and then later moved.to a side room which could be accessed by anybody. The room.was in a building connected my a walk way which was a.fair walk. As the main lift was not working, you had to cross through a large function room to a small back lift and use this. Sadly the main bar was closed for renovations. Beautiful main building.
GGuest UserA little piece of heaven! The room was very comfortable, well designed and with lovely nautical features throughout. On arrival, parking was excellent, friendly helpful staff, within minutes we were sat by the window, overlooking the fast flowing river, being entertained by the wildlife whilst enjoying a well earned drink after a nearly three hour drive! Location was perfect, breakfast, a joy! A birthday treat for my special girl which couldn't of been better, we will return.
SSeñorita FelizExcellent location, a group of friends traveled to Chester together and booked different hotels and Airbnb and it turned out this hotel was the best among us. However if you are looking for nice view this is not the right hotel for you- you can only see car park driveway from the window.
VVictoriaWe have had a lovely stay, and it would only take a few tweaks to make this hotel better.
Good:
*It's in the perfect location, we took an uber into the centre of Chester for less than £5.
*Breakfast was relaxed with a great selection as a buffet service.
*Spacious room with all the amenities you need.
*Plenty of free parking.
*Beautiful grounds and really quiet at night.
*Great value for money
Needs Improving:
*Cleaning standard is average, black mold around the taps in the bathroom that could be easily resolved.
*Bathroom floor was desperate for a good mop
*Bed wasn't the comfiest as 2 twins fastened together leaving a gap in the middle.
*Staffing levels affecting customer service levels, we decided to order room service, took an age to answer the phone and then said could be collected from reception, kind of goes against the point of room service, so we left it, not great for the hotels add on sales if that happens everytime.
*No enough bar staff, we ordered food but it was cold and one meal was not what we ordered but too hungry to wait for it to be replaced, apparently fish finger sandwich is identical to fish and chips anyway according to the waitress!
Like I said it won't take much for this hotel to raise it's customer service standards to an excellent level, more staff will fix most of the issues, despite everything mentioned we would probably stay again.
TT5732A decent and new-build hotel. At a convenient location, near a Waitrose, the town centre and Chester railway station. Recommended for those who would like to stay at Chester. The only problem is some of the light bulbs is broken. And I would like to say Chester is a great town with many historical buildings.
GGuest UserOne of the best experiences in a hotel I’ve ever had! The staff really make your stay, big shout out to Darcy on reception who made our stay so lovely. We arrived and we’re surprised with drinks vouchers for my partners birthday, the room was lovely and spacious and very quiet! We used the pool and jacuzzi which were both great! Breakfast was a buffet with a great selection and even the chef asked us how we were doing and if we needed any recommendations for our trip. The staff really do go above and beyond and are some of the loveliest I’ve met in the service industry, a real credit!
HHowellCathBrilliant hotel and location. Breakfast queue was the only thing which may have been an issue but we were there early so no problem. But could do with looking at how this is set up at busy times. Loved the whole visit.
GGuest UserFor the most part, this is a lovely hotel. It cost us around £7 for a taxi into Chester and the rooms are clean. The majority of staff are incredibly friendly. However, while out during the day our keys were deactivated to force us to the reception so that the manager could corner me about where my car was parked - which had been mentioned to another member of staff during check in and they had said it wasn't a problem. She had been trying to call me on the hotel room phone ”all day”, which is a ridiculous approach as who sits in their room all day? If she had just called me on my mobile number, which was used to book the room, I would have happily come back and moved the car. She demanded I move it in that moment and I explained that I'd had a drink but I'd move it in the morning. She then said she would move my car, which I wasn't comfortable with. She then walked away from me and wouldn't allow a rational, adult conversation. The tone and attitude were accusatory and her frustration clearly misdirected when she has made no realistic efforts to contact me; we were in the hotel until 11am and, as I said, I had my phone with me all day. I tried to explain to the reception staff why my car was where it was, and that I had discussed it on a rival and was dismissed with a ”well I wasn't there so I wouldn't know” then she smirked at another guest. It's such a shame that has really put a dampner on the stay for us, as it was totally unnecessary.
We got this on a deal so it was reduced slightly from £246 to £232.70 (two people in separate rooms for three nights), but even the full price would have been great value. Spacious, really comfortable beds, great range of TV channels, great location. Pretty much everything you could ask for. The only minor issue is that my mother's room got too warm at night. But in fairness, a fan was provided and she used this to help cool it down before going to bed.
