Beautiful quaint little hotel in a quite street away from the noise of the Cathedral area but still only a short walk. We were very lucky to be accommodated at short notice and the lovely receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. All the staff are extremely friendly and courteous. Our rooms were most comfortable with exposed stone walls and cute little balconies giving it a great character. A full length mirror would be most welcome however, in fact the only mirror was in the bathroom. Storage wasn't wonderful, the wardrobe was good but there were not any other shelves or closets and the desk/dressing table did not have any drawers either. Bathroom could also do with some more shelving but overall was nicely equipped with lovely Nuxe toiletries and a great hair dryer. The breakfasts were served to the table and although the selection was limited being just a continental breakfast, everything was fresh and delicious and the coffee lovely. Would definitely recommend for a stay in wonderful Santiago.

Bad ,, Bad .. Bad.. What a piece of junk this hotel is. The receptionists were great but then things go downhill from that point on. Then I want to use the bathroom in the lobby but it is under service. It is cordoned for but no one is working there for hours. And when it is working, it is only for 1 person at a time. There is no urinal. They gave me room 115. I walked in and felt the floor buckle. There is a bubble and not even. In my opinion, this room shouldn’t be rented out to anyone. Then the wifi didn’t work. Then the shower head fixture is loose and water is spraying all over the place. The door slams shut and you can hear door slamming at any time. The hotel is a bit far from central. The breakfast has ham and cheese so it is quite adequate. For what I got , it can’t charge anyone more than 30 Euros a night because of the above. The most annoying is the WiFi. When I told the receptionist, he said it is working now which is Bull S _ _ _. It never worked and if when it did, it worked sporadically. I would say don’t stay there , unless the only other option is sleep on a park bench. What a way to end my Camino. A pension in Pedrouzo which cost much less but a magnitude better in service.

I had an injury just prior to checking into this hotel. the front desk staff were helpful in the extreme to help me change my room to a more convenient one, find food during siesta time, and they even helped me get a Covid test in my room which was required in order to get on my flight the next day. the room was super comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was fantastic and again, the staff was excellent- friendly, caring, competent and anticipated my needs. thank you!

We stayed 3 nights in one of the ”atico” rooms on the 4th floor. The location of this hotel is excellent. The staff is very friendly. We had a nice time here overall. I'm not a fan of slanted ceilings and did bump my head a couple times. The hotel room was very clean and daily housekeeping did a nice job. It was very nice of them to provide daily bottled water. The room was pretty spacious but not all areas were useful due to the slanted ceiling. I would have liked to have an extra chair or bench in the room, in the slanted areas, and also bathroom, to place personal items. Just a suggestion for improvement that would be fairly easy for the hotel. I would stay here again if I'm ever in Santiago again.

This review would have been a 4 except for a few drawbacks. First the positives: great location close to the cathedral, restaurants etc; clean comfortable room and a spotlessly clean bathroom; a seating area on the balcony which is enclosed and looks out on a lovely square. However……. The large opaque glass wall of the bathroom is daft. At night, if you turn on the bathroom light, the bedroom lights up brightly too. While the receptionist was efficient, I’m afraid that friendliness - on arrival or departure - did not feature. The downside of the view and the balcony was that the room looked onto the street. There is no soundproofing to the street, even with the windows and shutters closed. There was shouting on the street, intermittently but frequently, until the wee small hours of Sunday morning. All quiet the previous and subsequent night.

This is a fantastic hotel, right around the corner from the Cathedral at Santiago de Compostela. You really can’t get any closer to the Cathedral or being in the center of the Old Town. Location is absolutely tops. The hotel itself is super charming, well set up, very clean and orderly. So comfortable! And since it’s so close to everything, no reason to use a public WC - just go back to your room! The staff is lovely and happy to give you all kinds of advice about local restaurants, how to get around (which is easy once you realize the maze of streets isn’t all that many and all kind of run parallel to each other). Very professional administration, especially when making a reservation. Only shortcoming is the morning breakfast. It’s kind of a fast food, packaged croissants and muffins kind of breakfast. Cappuccino was great though. However, you can probably do better getting breakfast in a neighborhood cafe. But for expediency and simplicity’s sake, sure, take the breakfast right at Rua Villar.

GGuest UserThe staff ( Natalia) friendly knowledgeable of the area, good recommendations, friendly, gave us history of the building and speaks English. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable . Coffee machine and fridge in the room was so nice for us. So close to the cathedral we could walk 20 steps and be there. They offer a nice breakfast, we did not take it because we like to explore. There is also a nice cafe bar right outside the door. I would love to stay here again!

Let's be honest, Hostal Denike is not a hostal at all, it is in reality a very good hotel, that would deserve either 4 or 5 stars! The location is excellent, just few minutes away from Santiago de Compostela cathedral and from the bus stop to/from the airport; notwithstanding its very central position, the accommodation is also very quiet, since the street is not on the usual tourists/pilgrims path. The room we were given was very clean and large, simply but efficiently decorated, although a small writing desk would make it even better, and the bed big and comfortable. Breakfast was simply great! The icing on the cake though was the service, extremely attentive, friendly and very much customer-oriented. Usually, in my reviews I don't single out individual staff as I try always to more as objective as possible, but for Begoña I must make an exception: her warmth and friendliness were exceptional and worth of a 5-star boutique hotel, making every guest feel special and pampered. Highly recommended!!

ZzwhttFor our party of 5 we had 2 separate rooms: standard for 2 and a larger room for 3 (although it could accommodate 4). Our larger room on the top floor had angled ceilings (and skylights), so just be mindful as you are walking around. We did appreciate the separation of rooms: 2 twins in a smaller enclosed area with the queen bed in the larger common area (with sofa chairs for additional relaxation). Continental breakfast was simple and delicious (they squeeze the orange juice for you when seated). Being uphill from the Cathedral, the location was quiet compared to the busier area below the Cathedral, but taking a taxi to return was very inexpensive and a relief after all the walking.

GGuest UserIt cost us to communicate to know when they sent us the code to enter and that made us nervous because we arrived after midnight. Finally they sent it but it was wrong. Fortunately there's a phone at the door and in a second they resolved it. There is a parking place. Very close to the center and the cathedral. There is very comfortable, modern, touched us the disabled in PB No air conditioning, only heating, as we were in March we noticed the lack, perhaps in summer he feels. We were very comfortable, very comfortable beds, good wifi, no pawn but have a pay-off coffee machine in the room. We were only one night, it was very good.

ZZHIFANGWhen I first entered the room, I felt that the room was a bit small, but I think it’s impossible for a single room at this price to have such a big bed, so I feel relieved. The internal heating, bathroom and other conditions are very good, and the external environment is also very good. The scenic area of San Diego is very concentrated, which is an oval circle in the old city wall. However, the convent and the Galician museum are not far away from the circle. Both are good places. The former overlooks the old city. The hotel is just south of the old city wall. There is a straight road leading to the railway station. It takes 15 minutes to walk without luggage. The hotel can also help you book a day trip to the Morte coast (including Cape Fiesta at the end of the sea), a very affordable coastal tour, because the public transportation in the coastal area is not developed, and if there is no self-driving condition, you can go with a group tour It is the most convenient and most rewarding way to visit.

Two night stay at the end of our Camino. Perfect location in the center of old Santiago, mere steps from the cathedral. Lots of history in this is a restored old monastery and it retains its feeling of the austere life of the monks. Beds are not the most comfortable and the rooms have little if any modern additions (no tv in ours for example) It’s a very large property and hallways feel more like a hospital than a hotel, but this adds to the experience. Breakfast was barely ok. You’re not allowed to bring food out of the cafeteria (?). We are out so we did not get a chance to try the dining room. Service was very good.

GGuest UserConveniently-located in the very heart of the old town, the hotel offers excellent service and ultimate comfort to visitors. No need to use any form of transport as everything worth seeing is within easy walking distance. Personal is amazing, doing everything possible to accommodate guests ‘ needs and make them feel at ease. Breakfast is basic but satisfying for the price paid. A good value for money. The room was thoroughly cleaned every day and a new supply of toiletries were delivered. I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Santiago de Compostela for whatever purpose.

Good location close to Praça Galicia and the airport bus is on a street behind the hotel. Receptionist was very nice and helpful. Room was a reasonable size, good bathroom with bath and shower. However, I encountered a problem during the night. I woke feeling like I had received an insect bite, turned on the light and was shocked to find a number of bedbugs marching across the duvet (see photos). I was the sole occupant of a twin room, switched to the other bed but couldn't sleep for the rest of the night. I have several lumps on my back where I've been bitten. I couldn't recommend this hotel after this bad experience.

Cathedral Museum
诗诗人赵四The Cathedral Museum is integrated with the Cathedral. The tall part is the Cathedral, and the museum is arranged along both sides. The left and right entrances of the museum can be vaguely seen in the picture below. Although the Cathedral Museum does not have the kind of exquisite style that you imagine, if you want to understand the works of Master Matteo, who is closely related to the Cathedral and has a close relationship with it (after all, the north side of the cathedral is under repair, and you can't see any of those masterpieces), then you have to visit the Cathedral Museum. The ticket is €6, which is not expensive. The museum is very large, with four floors, and classified exhibitions, including libraries, tapestries of master works (some of which are original works of Rubens and Goya), Matteo's original stone choir (destroyed in 1604 and recently patched up), Royal Pantheon, etc. The "Portal of Glory" introduced in the museum in the form of a TV film is worth your stop and careful viewing. This is the sculpture group repaired at the north end of the Cathedral, including more than 200 sculptures by Master Matteo. Although taking photos is prohibited in the museum, I personally think that TV screenshots may not be completely banned? I just took a few pictures from the TV show...

The view of the old city inside the city wall was quite fascinating. I was attracted all the way and stayed there for a long time. It was three o'clock in the afternoon when I arrived at the Galician Museum. Alas, it was closed after two o'clock on Sundays. The first two pictures are the convent and the view of the city from there.

乖乖小咪Quintana Plaza is the largest national plaza in Santiago. In the center of the square is the famous Quintana Cathedral. The square is very large and it is also the place where all tourists are most concentrated. The church looks very quaint and is definitely worth a visit.
