Just returned from another two weeks at the Punta Del Rey, our second visit in five weeks because of the incredible value the hotel offers, even though we were flying from our local, regional airport. We again had a room on top floor nine which had been refurbished and during our two weeks a fridge and new beds appeared! These new beds make it a lot easier for the room service staff as they rise up for making. The staff were their usual bright, cheerful selves and the food remains top-notch although the lady cooking eggs in the morning needs to speed up a bit. We failed to see Elton John this time as the venue was full by the time we arrived but did see an excellent Elvis tribute act and a couple of the other visiting singers and magicians during the holiday. The fact that the hotel is in a non-touristy area did seem to catch a few people out, a quick look at Google maps would make that pretty obvious. It cost us 7 Euro each way in a cab to the centre of Candelaria where there are bars and restaurants. It was quite windy (although very sunny) during our stay - the way the sunbathing terraces are built meant it was usually possible to find a sheltered spot and being the end of April / beginning of May meant the sun stayed on the bar area past seven o'clock. On our day of departure we were leaving the hotel around 5.00 pm and were able to book a half hour slot for 4.00 pm in the courtesy room for a shower needed after a hard day lying round the pool. This slot has to be booked after 7.00am on the day of departure and is free of charge, an excellent facility we think. This is an extremely well run hotel, they know what they are doing and are looking forward to returning in the future.

Fabulous hotel with the most amazingly helpful staff. Shout out to Conny on Reception, you were just wonderful when we arrived, thank you! Peaceful, calm and tranquil would best describe the hotels ambiance. The gardens with their fruit trees are enticing. This is a place to re-charge your batteries and relax, be looked after and eat great food. We experienced no issues whatsoever with Wi-Fi as has been mentioned in posts elsewhere. On site restaurant offers an excellent menu cooked to an equally excellent standard. If you have mobility issues, it might be worth noting that only the junior suites have showers, other rooms have a shower over the bath. On the down side, beds are tired and very hard but the topper provided by the housekeeping staff certainly improved our sleep quality. Looking forward to visiting again before the end of the year, fingers crossed.

The room was clean and beautiful, the beds super comfortable. A kind person and good service.

Our airline cancelled our flight from Tenerife South Airport at the last minute, and rerouted us via the North airport the next day and we had to very quickly book our own accommodation for the night. Booked through Bookings.com pretty much based on proximity to the airport as we had a very early flight the next day. After all the stress of the day the reception staff were lovely and welcoming. Our room was massive and well equipped. We eat at the hotel and it was good and also very reasonable. Due to the early flight and the clocks going forward we were a little anxious that we would set our alarms incorrectly or they wouldn’t update overnight. The night receptionist said he would do a walk up call for us and also would have a grab bag for breakfast waiting for us, as well as organising a taxi. The call happened and the breakfast bag was waiting for us with the Taxi. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and made what was a very stressful time very pleasant, thank you.

The apartment was pretty good and had the basics like a small kitchen, washing machine, etc. It could definitely use some renovation, but overall everything was fine. I was on the 8th floor and the view from the balcony was really nice. There is also a rooftop terrace which is great. Location is good, you can easily walk to the farmer’s market and city centre, and there is also a bus stop in front of the building.

Beautiful, characterful hotel with excellent service and facilities plus value for money. Hope to return.
