This is a lovely hotel and very deceptive from the outside. My husband booked this trip & it didn’t disappoint. Schwerin is a small town, with very cute alleyways and I was unsure of the type of accommodation that would be available. We did have issues with finding parking but eventually used the parking house which charged about €10 per day. The entrance to the hotel itself gives off an old vibe but when we reached our rooms it was completely the opposite. One room had a large entrance hall, and off that the very large bathroom (just with shower) and an equally large bedroom. The other bedroom was more open plan, large and spacious again with a large bathroom containing a bath & separate shower cubicle. The decor was modern & minimalist but practical. It was quiet at night, even with the windows open. The only thing that bothered me was the automatic light that switched on when you had to use the bathroom. The minute you opened the bedroom door into the hallway of the suite, the light went on which lit up the bedroom. Not so good for the other occupant. We did have an issue with the room not being made up on our first morning & staff were apologetic and had our room seen to & replaced our towels. We did not eat at the hotel. But the restaurant looks good. We are already thinking about Christmas markets in Schwerin and hopefully staying in this hotel again.

Herr Janke, is such a kind man we meet him after our orginal hotel had double booked on us for our wedding!!! We visited his hotel highly stressed and not sure how we were going to make our wedding happen. We were meet by a very calm and helpful gentleman. Who was able to secure rooms for us and also give us several ideas for our wedding. We viewed several rooms which were spotlessly clean and looked very comfortable. Most if the rooms are overlooking a small type of courtyard and very quite. It is excellent value for money too. Love the fact that he runs a honesty policy for the beers you comsume there are fridges that you can help yourself to beer and then tell staff on check out Schewerin is a lovely city well worth a visit. Yhe location of this hotel is excellent right beside the trams and the castle. Jennifer

Very Good

I had stayed in this house before, even a few times, but a long time ago. Now I was shocked, because the way the property is run down is very scary and also very disappointing. What is fine as before: the location in the city is good and the Wi-Fi worked. But that was unfortunately already the positive experiences this time. The reception is only staffed until 22:00, so the concierge came right away also with the saying: I'm out of here, it's time to go home. Room card and bye. In the room, which at first superficial glance seemed fine, there were then the really disappointing surprises. And: A room change was now no longer possible because of the missing concierge. The main defect was the bed: Apparently the mattress is broken, because about 1000 nylon rods with a length of about 1mm pecked through the sheet when you sat or lay on it. That's how a fakir must feel. A pincushion of the finest. Every time I turned around I was awake with pain, so after two hours I decided to sleep the rest of the night in an armchair. Next to it, the facade spotlights shone into the room, and the darkening with blinds and curtains, which were not wide enough, worked only partially. Some of the furniture was really broken and the smoke detector was only visible as a socket on the ceiling. Next to it a lively cable tangle, which was obviously not built to the end. Also in the area of the corridors everywhere a considerable renovation backlog: letters of the lettering were missing, scuffs on the walls. The next morning at the reception, I complained about the night in the seating to the lady, who also tried to appease that problem, but could not or would not respond to my request for a 50% discount on the room rate. I also could not accept a free breakfast due to the upcoming customer appointment. My colleagues thought that I should have been fully reimbursed for the ”night”. A subsequent mail to the administration resulted in a 10% discount on the price. In summary: I think a new owner or management that will make the Plaza into one again, an it is urgently advised. It used to be a good hotel, but now it feels like the old GDR: no one cares anymore because no one owns it.

Regional und authentisch fügen sich Ausstattung und Services zu einem harmonischen Gesamtkonzept – das macht diese Hotels ebenso einzigartig wie unverwechselbar. Gerne immer wieder und für das Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis kaum zu toppen. Einfach ein unvergessliches Erlebnis für Sightseeing-Touristen, aber auch für alle ruhesuchende die ihre Energiereserven mal wieder auffüllen wollen und natürlich ganz klar, auch für alle Naturliebhaber abseits vom Lärm der Städte. Waren Mitte Juni für zwei Übernachtungen hier im „Seehotel Frankenhorst“, um uns etwas besonders zu gönnen. Um es gleich vorwegzunehmen, auch diesmal wurde unsere hohe Erwartungshaltung und Ansprüche an die Hotels der ”BW Signature Collection” mal wieder erfüllt. Unser Motto, gerne mal etwas mehr ausgeben, um sich im Nachhinein nicht darüber zu ärgern, dass man mal wieder an der falschen Stelle gespart hat. Hier passte einfach alles perfekt zusammen für ein harmonischen Gesamtkonzept. Und das macht dieses Hotel am See, mit einer wunderschönen weitläufigen Parkanlage, Pool, Innensauna und einer einmaligen See Sauna, ebenso einzigartig wie unverwechselbar. Wir haben jede Minute genossen und unsere Buchung, in keinster Weise bereut. Aber es gab auch etwas, was uns nicht gefallen hat. Das war u. a., die sehr kleine Unterstellmöglichkeit für unsere Fahrräder, der für uns zu kalte Indoor-Pool, unser sehr kleines (dadurch kaum Ablege Möglichkeiten) und unmodernes Badezimmer, mit einer nicht Mobilität gerechte (behindertengerecht) kniehohe Duschbad Wanne. Alles noch mit dem Charme einer vergangenen Zeit. Hier in unserem Zimmer mit der Nr. 211, sehen wir schon einem Renovierungsbedarf. Auch das abends u. a. bestellte ”Rib Eye Steak”, war das Geld in keinster Weise wert. Ebenso das beim wirklich leckeren und abwechslungsreichen Frühstück, zusätzlich bestellte Omelett, kennen wir viel besser und wurde auch von uns beanstandet. Aber was für uns als Gäste noch besonders wichtig ist, dass ist der hier vorhandene exzellente Service, der Gästewünsche im Vorfeld der Anreise und auch vor Ort vorbildlich versucht, umzusetzen. Hat uns persönlich sehr gut gefallen und ergänzend zu unserem Wohlbefinden beigetragen. Dafür nochmals unseren Dank an das Team vom Empfang. Fazit, eine 100 prozentige Weiterempfehlung und verdiente 5 Sterne Plus. Ach ja und danke, dass ihr diese Weiterempfehlung zu wenig

GGuest UserHerr Janke, is such a kind man we meet him after our orginal hotel had double booked on us for our wedding!!! We visited his hotel highly stressed and not sure how we were going to make our wedding happen. We were meet by a very calm and helpful gentleman. Who was able to secure rooms for us and also give us several ideas for our wedding. We viewed several rooms which were spotlessly clean and looked very comfortable. Most if the rooms are overlooking a small type of courtyard and very quite. It is excellent value for money too. Love the fact that he runs a honesty policy for the beers you comsume there are fridges that you can help yourself to beer and then tell staff on check out Schewerin is a lovely city well worth a visit. Yhe location of this hotel is excellent right beside the trams and the castle. Jennifer

GGuest UserPannen können immer mal passieren. Aber ein unprofessioneller und frecher Umgang damit ist nicht zu entschuldigen. Was war passiert? Trotz einer schriftlichen Reservierung, in der ich als Rollstuhlfahrer angekündigt worden war, wurde mir beim Check-in lapidar mitgeteilt, das einzige barrierefreie Zimmer sei belegt. Ich solle halt ein normales Zimmer nehmen. Oben angekommen, kam es, wie es kommen musste. Die Türen der normalen Zimmer alle zu eng! Also wieder zurück zur Rezeption. Dort entgegnete mir der Mitarbeiter, er habe keinen Fehler gemacht und hinterfragte, ob ich das Behindertenzimmer wirklich reserviert habe. Erst als ich ihm meine Reservierung zeigte, begann er, sich zu bemühen. Aber nicht etwa, um mir ein passendes Zimmer in einem anderen Hotel zu organisieren, sondern um den Hotelgast, der das Zimmer hatte, dort wieder hinauszubefördern. Also nicht nur ein verärgerter Gast, sondern zwei! An der Stelle reichte es mir und ich besorgte mir selber eine Alternative. Der Mitarbeiter war sichtlich erleichtert, aber an der Stelle wäre es nett gewesen, mal ein Wort der Entschuldigung zu hören. Fehlanzeige! Der Hotelmanager werde sich am nächsten Tag bei mir melden, hieß es. Aber bei der Ankündigung blieb es dann auch. Gutes Krisenmanagement geht definitiv anders!
