We had googled our way to the fact that the Hilton Mainz has a very good location right down to the Rhine and you can purchase access to the hotel's ”Executive Lounge”. We booked 5 nights and we were ready for a little vacation by the Rhine. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were quickly and efficiently checked in by Mrs. Blanco Flores, who upgraded us to a room with a view of the Rhine. Mrs. Flores made us aware, that the ”Executive Lounge” was unfortunately not that big, but we had to see that with our ”own eyes”. Really good service was provided upon check-in, and our expectations for the stay at the hotel became greater. The room we had been allocated was on the 5th floor with a wonderful view of the Rhine. We had booked a room with breakfast, so we were excited to see, how the breakfast buffet was. But we were very pleasantly surprised there 😊.. There was a reasonably large selection of various breads and hot items, so it was just a matter of getting started with breakfast. The hotel allows you to sit outside and enjoy your breakfast with a view of the Rhine, and watch the people walking and cycling past. We were very lucky with the weather, so breakfast was enjoyed for a little longer time than usual. After breakfast, we went up and see how the ”Executive Lounge” was. But unfortunately we were somewhat disappointed. The ”Executive Lounge” consists of 2 small rooms, where there were 3 tables in each room, and 3 people could sit at each table. When we got outside the time when alcoholic drinks are served, we could see that you could have a cup of coffee or an apollinaris. The snacks on display looked a bit boring, and the fruit wasn't of the best quality either. But cheer up, it could be good in the evening... But when we visited the ”Executive Lounge” in the evening, beer, wine and spirits were on display - but the snacks that were also on display didn't seem particularly inviting - so we didn't take any of them. Summary of our experience of the ”Executive Lounge” is that it is not necessary to purchase access to the ”Executive Lounge”. And we can only encourage hotel management to go on a study trip to Düsseldorf or Dresden, where we have experienced what an ”Executive Lounge” should really be like. In general, the level of service is very high, and the staff a super good service at the hotel 😊... Here we have to highlight in particular: Mrs. Flores from the reception, Heike from the breakfast restaurant and Brittany from Guest Relations. They gave us a really good service during our stay. In summary, we would give the hotel 4 stars out of 5. If the hotel should have had the last star, the ”Executive Lounge” must be upgraded with better rooms. (Could space be created for a small area down in the restaurant area, so that you also have the opportunity to sit outside on the warm summer evenings. We would like to come again at another time to enjoy the good location and super service 😊..
This hotel is located just in front of the train station which is so convenient, also mean the main bus stop is here. It's quite well decorated. Despite its old built, it's well organized inside. Unfortunately I got the room on the backside but still got the top floor, so won't complain. They have AC and heater(separately). Just only one hair in found in the bathroom is the diasadvantage. Oh well, the blanket seems to be smaller than a queen bed. Maybe because I book just for one, anyway I hope to get a big one. A women at the reception I met was nice, friendly. Overall, I kinda like it here. Well, haven't tried thier breakfast so, can't say. I will be back here if I visit Mainz for some business reasons.

What was supposed to be a relaxing wellness weekend for my partner's birthday unfortunately turned into a complete disappointment. As we were enthusiastic about the Favorite Parkhotel during our last stay two years ago, this time we had very high expectations, which were unfortunately completely disappointed and we were quickly brought back down to earth. The superior room we had booked was unfortunately one of the very dusty, old-fashioned rooms on the 5th floor, in contrast to the last stay when we had been given a modern room. There was nothing to complain about in terms of cleanliness, but it started with the fact that on the day of arrival our room was not ready for occupancy for a long time and the man at reception had obviously forgotten us, so we had to ask several times about the current status of the check-in option. The elevator was of course broken, so we had to carry our luggage up to the 5th floor. When the staff asked if we needed help, of course there was no response. The elevator was regularly broken from the day of arrival to the day of departure (Thursday-Sunday)... The energy cost is another of those additional fees that are beyond comprehension. It would be a more honest decision for the hotel to adjust the overnight prices accordingly. The wellness area on the roof is still completely undersized for a hotel of this size, and the whirlpool was out of service for two days. The hotel's newly designed spa area on the ground floor is visually very appealing, but there are too few places to lie down for the size of the hotel. The design here was more about appearance than practicality, because the large number of guests gave the whole place the atmosphere of a train station, with no trace of relaxation. It would have been sensible to separate the rest areas, but as it is, you are in the middle of through traffic... unfortunately a total failure. When I was asked by a receptionist on the day of departure whether I had enjoyed my stay and answered ”Unfortunately not”, his reaction was a simple ”Oh, that's a shame, I'm sorry”. It would have been more appropriate to simply ask why I was dissatisfied, because how can a hotel improve if it doesn't ask about criticism? But the motto here is: it doesn't matter, the customer has left, so I don't care why the customer didn't like it. At just under 800.- for three nights and a visit to the hotel's own restaurant, this was a very disappointing experience. I had communicated with the hotel well in advance that it was supposed to be a birthday surprise for my partner, but they said: of course not. It was clear to us that this hotel was finished for us, there are better places.
Got upgraded as frequent Accor Hotel user. Privilege room is very nice, overlooking a small park, quiet neighbourhood, queen bed, tremendous shower, & good lighting. 2 blocks from main train station in Mainz, which is a beautiful city. Nice towels & bedding as well as soap, lotion, shampoo & conditioner dispensers. Room is reasonably quiet but with a little bit of traffic noise when windows open. Gift of 2 free drinks on check-in for my wife & I, which was a very nice touch. Also in easy walking distance of old town & many museums & cathedrals - many of which are pedestrian only streets also filled restaurants, bars & shops. Downside - only 1 English TV station (France 24) despite listing BBC, CNN, etc that actually have no signal. TV is small (much smaller & fewer stations than Mercure in Frankfurt). Advised safe not working on Saturday check-in at 3 PM, but never fixed before we left on Tuesday (although Monday was holiday). No light at inside front door. Coffee cups are too tall to fit under Krups machine & no milk (even powdered). Fridge is truly tiny & doesn’t keep anything cold. Small bar & restaurant only open for breakfast (€20 each). Location great, room nice & staff friendly so would stay again despite disappointments.
This was the first hotel we stayed at, as part of a 7 month trip through Europe and Africa. Will admit - not the best idea, as this apartment is SO NICE, that you'll end up comparing all your future hotel rooms against it (and they'll probs come up short). Beautiful converted building, spacious rooms, everything feels recently renovated and clean. The owner was exceptionally friendly and went out of his way to help us. Our room looked over the main square and fountain, and was extremely nice to fall asleep at night with the window opening listening to people walk past, eating at cafe and the fountain in the background. Only thing to note is that the beds seem a little small. We're used to a king at home, or queen when we travel. This may indeed be a queen, but it feels like a double. I fell off the bed (while sleeping) one night we stayed. Not fun as bed is quite high. Excellent stay in Mainz, and a great alternative to Frankfurt if they're having a convention (and the prices go sky-high). Old town here is small, but there's enough stuff to keep one busy for a few days.
With a stay at Hotel Havana in Mainz (Altstadt Mainz), you'll be steps from Gutenberg Museum and Rheingoldhalle. This hotel is 0.2 mi (0.3 km) from Rhine and 0.2 mi (0.3 km) from Marktbrunnen.
Take in the views from a terrace and make use of amenities such as complimentary wireless internet access and tour/ticket assistance.
Grab a bite to eat at one of the hotel's many dining establishments, which include 4 restaurants and 5 coffee shops/cafes. Wrap up your day with a drink at the bar/lounge.
Make yourself at home in one of the 8 guestrooms, featuring kitchenettes with full-sized refrigerators/freezers and stovetops. Flat-screen televisions with satellite programming provide entertainment, while complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected. Conveniences include desks and microwaves, and housekeeping is provided on a limited basis.
The hotel breakfast is praised, and the blueberry freedom and yogurt freedom are realized.
However, the facilities of foreign hotels are indeed not as good as those of domestic hotels, and there are even no slippers, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

Mainz Cathedral
Ssuifeng2019Mainz Cathedral is a pale-red sandstone building that has been restored many times in history due to war and fire, and when we went, the top of the church bell tower was thrown in the restoration. The interior of the church is also light red sandstone, without the exquisite ornateness of rococo, more solemn.
St. Peter
艾艾莉莎The church is relatively biased in the center, about 10 minutes walk from Mainz Cathedral, there are few people to go, but it is actually worth seeing. The outside looks simple, but the inside is a wet mural and a beautifully carved corridor column
Landesmuseum Mainz
LliyanbuctThe history of Mainz's development is very good. The collection is very rich and spectacular. There are many people. If you want to visit, you can leave early so that you can have enough time to understand.
Naturhistorisches Museum Mainz
LliyanbuctThe museum is not big or small, but it is very spectacular and popular with tourists. You can see a lot of specimens and fossil collections here.
Gutenberg Museum
猫猫猫在旅行One of Mainz's major attractions is the Gutenberg Museum. This museum is close to Mainz Cathedral and it was not open on Monday, but we booked it for a group so we could still go in. Gutenberg, the father of modern printing technology, although hundreds of years later than Bisheng, invented lead-type printing in Europe, and also invented the printing press. His inventions were rapidly popularized in Europe. The museum holds the Gutenberg printed Bible, and the thick Bible is printed out and hand-decorated by the monks, and the first sentence is thickened, so each book is a unique treasure.
