This hotel is the best for travellers who want to see a slice of daily life in Qingdao. Located in the residential Shanghe Road, it is a hole in the wall, buried among the older neighbourhood of 1960s to 1980s buildings. But enter the hotel and you will find yourself in a Bohemian styled Sequoia restaurant, which serves good steak, good coffee and of course, good beer. The owner, Mr Sam Li, was a very friendly owner, who helped us around. There was a sweet lady receptionist who also helped us with getting our first DiDi ride hailing. The interior of the hotel was wood paneled, and the beds were really comfortable. There is a backyard where you can drink tea. The hotel is located about 200m away from Taishan Road subway station, the terminal for Line2 of the Qingdao metro. For a seafood market experience, ask for Baodao Seafood market, which is just around the corner. Go on Sundays for the best variety of seafood.

The hotel is spacious and nicely located near to the golden beach of Huangdao, however you have to cross a major road to reach that b ach area. The rooms furniture is a bit outdated but the room is in general comfortable and nice. The longe was closed in the winter time and even now in late March. Breakfast is divers and offers great choices. The hotel is worth the money and not overpriced.

I booked this hotel because it was close to the music festival. The service was very good. Because it was raining, raincoats were prepared for us to watch the music festival. The room was well shaded. The only inconvenience was that the lights in the room were too dim. I was dressed more casually in the house, so it would be a bit dark if I had to close the curtains. This hotel was older, but it had a certain elegance to it, albeit somewhat faded. The staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable, quiet, clean and tastefully decorated. The food in the cafeteria for breakfast was not that good, however. Even at 7:20am the food was all old and cold. There were some problems with the bathroom in my room as well. The bathtub leaked and got water all over the floor. Also, the shower door wouldn't close all of the way, which got water all over the floor too. Also, the water never got hot in the shower, although the water did get hot in the sink and the bathtub. Overall a nice place to stay, but they need to update some of their facilities.

The first time I came to stay at the hotel, quiet in the middle of noisy, the front desk service was very warm, the room was in Central European style, added 300 yuan, upgraded to a sea view bed, the room was south-facing, there was a bathtub, the overall feeling of the room was very good value, the breakfast bought at your own expense was also very good, it was a Chinese breakfast, The cleaning sister is very enthusiastic, and she also took the initiative to help clean up the garbage. It is one of the best I stay in holiday inn in China The check in staff are so helpful n professional. Especially one lady she helped me to change a bigger bed due the first light I stay in 1.5 m bed I wish I could have a 1.8m wide. All of them are so good n attentive I also praise the room service maids as they are very friendly nice, always say hi whenever I meet them in the corridor. Breakfast is good n the staff are very polite n hardworking as I notice there are only two staff on spot, but quite efficient Nearby area are so picturesque n lots of open space n greenery garden, seaside promenades for running walking n biking. Real good place for vacation
