We booked the family room. It was well priced for what we got. Shame the doors don’t line up properly but everyone near us had the same issue. Easy fix maintenance issue but. Beds doubled as a lounge but it meant you can watch tv in bed which a lot of hotels don’t offer TVs in the bed rooms. I presume that’s the difference between a hotel and motel as we don’t normally stay in motels. Nice to cuddle up and watch a movie when the kids go to bed. Didn’t like that the centre door auto locked and only 1 key. Made it hard if the kids wanted to come in during the night. There was a second privacy door but it does not close properly. The second bed in each room came in handy for the younger one. The check in staff were great and knowledgeable. They were down to earth and not “snobbish”. We didn’t feel like we were annoying them asking questions about activities. Loved having the back entrance since the front is so narrow and the same car was parked there during our visit so no way out. It is right on the river and localised so we walked to most things. Shops, breakfast, dinner etc. we only drove to the activities, zoo, museum etc. Take bug spray, we got eaten alive but that’s no fault of the venue, it’s just the location. They were fully booked but we still felt like the only ones there and always had exclusive use of the pool and outdoor area. May be different when it warms up but the kids loved it. If we return to rocky for another short stay we would return to motel 98. The only think I do not recommend is eating at skyring (their restaurant) unless you want to starve. 20kg 9yr old girl ate the $53 steak meal and was still hungry but I’ll leave the full review for their page. Only reason for a 4 not a 5 was the food and no local “what around” booklets like most places have had. Free wifi slow (can’t watch movies on it) but allowed us to google more local attractions. Stayed at the Denison last night. It was a wonderful experience. The decor is Victorian/Federation and the facilities were tasteful, clean and very comfortable. The staff greeted us cordially and made us welcome even thought it was quite late in the day. The room was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended if you want to stay in a place that oozes old world charm from a bygone era, but with all the modern conveniences. Our only observation was that the bed, whilst huge and comfortable had a mattress and pillows softer than we are used to. That is not a criticism, just a personal preference. Otherwise, perfect.

🧹 Health: First of all, health really needs to be strengthened. We stayed at night. There was no 24h front desk. Unidentified stains were found on the sheets. I could sleep on the other side at night. 🚗 Traffic: It's all driving here, but at least explain how to check in and parking on the reservation email. The hotel is on the roadside. If you don't have a room card, you can't enter the garage. When you check in, the car can't stop and help the road. There are several parking spaces on the roadside are full. Finally, you can put a person off the bus to check in, and the driver circled.

Great clean room well lit inside fridge was awesome cold as strong hot shower I really enjoyed my stay friendly staff nothing was a problem dinner was tip top this motel is thw benchmark place to stay in Rockhampton handy to walk into the cbd. When I was ready to leave they called me a cab . Thanks very much

We stayed for two separate nights (on our way down to and back from the Gold Coast - road tripping from Cairns) and both nights were great. The rooms were clean, check in was very easy and then after hours check out was easy as well. There was a kettle & microwave as standard in both rooms we stayed in, which was great to quickly heat a meal & make a hot drink after a long day of driving. We had to change the date of our second night on the way home, and the staff on the phone was always very helpful and understanding each time we had to call & change the date. Would definitely stay again if we were driving through again and needed a place to stay in Rocky for the night. The pricing was great for a small, clean room that was needed just as a stop over for a night.
