Kiama
Jjuki235Kiama is a magnificent coastal landscape outside Sydney. There are reefs protruding from the sea in various shapes on the coast. The waves hitting the reefs create huge waves, which gives people a strong spiritual shock. The sea view here is also very beautiful, especially at dusk, when the golden sunlight shines on the reefs, giving people a romantic and warm feeling.
Kiama Blowhole
MM59***78The blowhole is located in the small town of Kiama. Kiama is not far south of Wollongong, and Wollongong is not far south of Sydney. There is a direct highway from Sydney to Kiama, which is very convenient for self-driving. The scenery along the way is beautiful. You can see the constant changes and integration of cities, forests, wilderness, mountains, pastures, cliffs, oceans, towns, and cities. Therefore, it is highly recommended to drive from Sydney to Kiama. 😍The highlight of Kiama is the blowhole. The blowhole can spray water thanks to a wonderful structure of rock. It consists of two parts: one is an underground trumpet-shaped seawater channel, and the other is a vertical hole connecting the end of the trumpet-shaped seawater channel to the upper rock platform, that is, the blowhole. Kiama faces the vast Tasman Sea. There are often strong winds from the ocean that blow up big waves. The big waves rush into the trumpet-shaped seawater channel. As you go deeper into the channel, the channel becomes narrower and narrower. The squeezing force of the seawater on the surrounding rock walls becomes greater and greater, and the speed of the seawater becomes faster and faster. When it reaches the hole, a large amount of seawater is pressed upward at high speed, forming the famous water spray landscape. The stronger the wind, the more spectacular the landscape. 😯 Fortunately, when I came to Kiama, the wind speed was very high. On the one hand, I had to endure the erosion of the strong wind, and on the other hand, I could also witness the magnificent natural power. 😅 However, when the wind is strong, it is not recommended to get close to the viewing platform below, because the big waves and strong winds add up to one or more free sea baths. 😂The water spray landscape often appears with rainbows! The more spectacular the water spray landscape, the greater the chance of a rainbow appearing! Find a suitable angle and the right time, you can see a complete rainbow bridge! 😀You might as well look around! You can see the cliffs stretching endlessly to both sides, the small villages dotted among the lush green lawns on the cliffs, and the white lighthouse behind you quietly guarding the blue ocean in front of you for who knows how many years. 😊More importantly, it's completely free here! 🩷Here, if you don't have enough fun on your seaside trip, you can go north to Wollongong and visit the Sea Cliff Bridge and Royal National Park along the coastal road, where there are more exciting things waiting to be explored!
