When I checked in on the first day, I originally selected the bay view room type, but assigned the third floor to the main building wall. I only saw a small number of fishing port views when I looked out from the side of the window. So he reported to the front desk, but the male staff member said that there was no other room replacement during the plumbing repair, but he had no choice but to accept it, but when he went back to the hotel at night to take a bath, there was suddenly no cold water, only hot water, and the emergency front desk responded that there was cold water later Soon after bathing again, there was no cold water. The wolf was very embarrassed, and then asked the staff to deal with it. Later, he simply asked us to go to the isolation room to bathe, and said that he would change rooms with us tomorrow. At 11 o'clock the next day, he was notified to change to another high-rise room. I really saw the view of the sea-view room I wanted to book on the Internet, and I felt very satisfied. I can look at the bridge at night and the night view of the Opera House lighting, very charming and romantic. Although the room is small, it has all the equipment and facilities. It has a barbecue microwave and complete utensils. It is also equipped with ravioli and pepper, which can be eaten easily. The beds are clean and white.
We stayed here in early January and chose it based on its value for money and proximity to the Sydney Cricket Ground (as we went to the cricket). It was a nice walk from our hotel to the SCG, and the hotel itself was lovely - friendly staff, clean room and yummy breakfast on offer. I'd highly recommend for those on a budget as this hotel has everything you need. We didn't check out the busy Greek restaurant adjacent, that's for another trip!
Great location and great people. For the price it is very good.
Points of criticism:
- If you have the upper bed, you don't have a socket on the bed. You may be lucky that there is an extension cable
- there are no curtains on the beds. So zero privacy
I’ve noticed aggressive feedback below and I want to advocate this awesome place. I’ve stayed in the room in March and then In June with my partner.I confirm that WiFi requires attention since it’s too too poor but I’m glad that while I was here, the management has been working on that issue. That’s true that Reception isn’t 24/7 but this is Boutique Hotel for people who aren’t familiar with term, it doesn’t mean luxury all inclusive Conrad by Hilton hotel that’s why don’t expect room service, 24/7 front desk service, towel swans and etc. In addition, beautiful and friendly ladies at the reception go extra miles to ensure that you feel comfortable and like at home. The room isn’t big but stylish if you’d like more space go for room with balcony and you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, which you may find at the reception complimentary, early in the morning looking at the Potts Point. Besides, LOCATION, this is the best, the most convenient location in Sydney! You can walk to Opera House,CBD or get the train to Bondi Beach staying away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Also, Potts Point has a soul and you may be bewitched by the spirit of this area. To sum up, don’t hesitate about the hotel, it’s gem of the area and you can definitely enjoy the time here if you don’t expect more than the hotel positioned itself. P.S. Jensen Potts Point, thank you for complimentary snacks each time when we switched the room and thank you, the entire small team for being nice and positive every day.
For us Potts point is the coolest, Neighbourhood/village in sydney, this apartment block that is partly hotel, with its art deco charm, is a fantastic representation of the area, it is located in a quiet part considering it border with the cross/*****, we stayed in one of the un-renovated studios, however it had a quirky 70's charm, the studio is huge, with plenty of room, with a workable kitchen and dining table, the bed was a king with a extra single doubling as a sofa, all in all a lovely apartment. The reception staff, (jade), was helpful and very friendly, accomodating my elderly mother, she had a wonderful week stay and cant wait to come back, stay with these guys.
It's very convenient and comfortable. It's a bigger business than expected. The host is very nice, very convenient and comfortable.
In addition, it is wonderful that you can use the microwave oven.
Everything is good, but there are no other electrical appliances, but they don't need to be used.
I stayed here this week for four nights. I have stayed at many hotels across Sydney, but Hotel Challis is now at the top of my list. Super quiet location, clean air conditioned rooms. Wonderful relaxing terrace to sit and chill. Close to fabulous coffee and food, and also the Andrew (Boy) Charlton swimming pool where I swam daily. The manager Nicole and her assistant Victoria are just wonderful. So very kind and excellent communication. I can’t wait to return here, thank you so much Nicole and Victoria for running such a fabulous hospitality operation, and for making my stay absolutely perfect. See you soon.
Sidney was very mocht worth the visite. The city as well as the hotel made that we wished we could stay longer. The city offers so mocht places to go that we had to make choices; we visite of course the Opera House, the Royal Botanical Gardens, Hyde Park and St Marys Cathedral.
A welcoming, well positioned and beautifully decorated hotel. We arrived very early at the end of a long voyage from the UK. We were immediately invited to leave our bags with the hotel team, and given some great advice about where to get some brunch. On returning mid-afternoon we were greeted with a spacious, well decorated room full of thoughtful additions like some reading material, and by a complementary gin. Spicers is near enough the main city attractions and local restaurants to walk, but far enough away to mean it’s not noisy at night. I would definitely go back - highly recommended.
