Side Spring Hotel

Hello, I was there from 1st to 10th of October. I want to mention from the beginning that I have never posted a hotel review. I had the opportunity to stay in many hotels during my vacations. Someone must tell the real truth. I will mention not only the negative ones. 1) The Internet is quite good even on the 2nd floor and it's free. 2) Every morning at 10 and 11 a.m. there is a free minivan (very old) that transports you from the hotel to Blue Beach and back at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. free of charge. 3) The sunbed allocated to this hotel is also free. 4) The only members of the hotel staff who are really realistic and polite are the young waiter, about 22-25 years old, and the receptionist (also a man) of about the same age. By chance, these two speak and understand English.In total, 3 members of the hotel understand and speak English. I think the 3rd is the manager or even the owner, but I will come back to him later because it is good to know what kind of fake person he is. What is negative: the food! me and my wife not being picky and we don't have any allergies to the ingredients either! We went "half board" but we regretted it because for the same price and the same 10 days I was in Alanya in May at the Club Big Blue Suite Hotel and almost everything was super,food,staff(all inclusive!). Every morning at Spring it was the same boring food, boiled eggs, some boiled vegetables without a bit of taste. Someone said here what a great barbecue near the pool on weekends, wrong! Only once a week (Tuesday) - I know because I stayed for 10 days and I saw it twice. That was really tasty and that so-called chef would give you drumstick and then look at you like "what, isn't it enough?" But what bothered me the most was the following incident: I am a heavy smoker and I insured myself by taking with me everything related to rolled cigarettes (tobacco, filters, papers and especially the rolling machine). Spain when I couldn't find some of these things and that's why I insured myself during my stay in Turkey. One of the afternoons before leaving the room I hung the "Do not disturb" sign on the outside of the door handle because we don't want them to clean our room because it was clean. Ofcourse when we cameback around 5pm that sign it was no longer on the door but inside, the cleaning lady had arranged the room again and threw all my things related to cigarettes in the trash who knows where. Basically, it was a bag with all these items,items very difficult to find in other countries,exept tobacco. I went to the reception and this time it wasn't that young man who speaks English so I tried to explain to the ladies who are part of the manager's family what happened. Finally they called the manager and he arrived after about 30 min.I explained the whole phase that I posted that sign on the door and it's no excuse that the cleaner doesn't know English, working in the hospitality for many years she should know wh

Very isolated hotel, customer service none existent. Food cold and same every night. Rooms are clean but in need of maintenance, balcony door wouldn’t lock and you had use brute force to open it. Shower was useless, it you put any pressure to the water the head would fly off 😂😂

The 1st time I have been away on my own & I couldn't of wished for any thing more, this small family run hotel is described as a budget hotel, I was very impressed with Side Spring, the owner & his lovely family made you feel so very welcome, the rooms were a very good size & very clean, beds comfortable & pillows lovely, the food was of very good quality & a good selection, every night we had different choices & at the weekend a bar-b-que by the pool, the pool was fantastic & u could use it up till 10pm, also it's the same depth all the way round with a baby pool on the side but no slides which I liked, because then there isn't lots of children, If your just looking for a quite laid back do nothing break then here is ideal, food is available all day from the bar next to the pool, the food was excellent & so reasonably priced, there is a free shuttle from the hotel to the private beach which takes about 5 minutes & brings you back later, the beach was lovely & sunbed's & umbrella's were free of charge, the bar on the beach also does food which again was very reasonable & very delicious. The area is a bit quite but if you walk a little way there are shops & restaurants also a market on a Saturday morning, next time I am going to explore more but I was very content just lazing around the pool & eating. I will most definately return here & will have 10 days next time, very nice plants around the hotel & the gardens very well maintained, every thing about Side Spring is a positive & I can't wait to return with my family this time. We absolutely loved our stay here! It's a lovely small, friendly hotel which made us feel the most welcome I've ever felt in a hotel. The entire place is spotless, staff always cleaning and the rooms were beautifully made up each morning. Rooms were basic but perfect with a lovely sized balcony. Pool and sunbed area was perfect, with a lovely bar and shaded area to relax and eat at. We were half board and we thoroughly enjoyed the food! The choice wasn't huge but everything served was a fantastic quality. Most evenings we went up for seconds! Drinks and lunches were reasonable cost and we set up a tab to pay off at the end of the holiday. What made this holiday amazing though were the staff! They were so friendly, kind, funny and helpful. The owner and his family made a huge impression on us and made our time even more memorable! We genuinely will be back again. Couldn't fault it and we now have big holiday blues. I booked this due to the positive reviews I had read but I am wondering if this was the same hotel. I did not expect 5* accommodation and service but I did expect more than I received . There was no lift and I arrived late at night and had to lug my suitcase up four flights of stairs. I was not even offered water after a long day of travel. There were some great positives. The evening meals were very good quality despite limited choice. Limited breakfast choices but good quality. I felt the the staff were watching people like hawks and I felt a sense of unease throughout, not the overly friendliness I kept reading about. I travelled as a solo woman. I wish as much effort had been placed on the cleanliness of my bathroom as was placed on constantly rearranging the furniture at the pool area as the shared areas were indeed clean. There was dodgy wiring to my tv and as the remote did not turn it off I had to unplug from the wall. I recommend using the safe for storage of items including essential medication. The cleaning lady unlocked my room whilst I was resting on the bed in my underwear the morning I was leaving to hint for a tip. She did not leave at that point, entered the room and insisted on using her phone to translate her comments. I feel this was inappropriate and unacceptable. I could say more.....

We stayed here for 4 nights and we were very pleased with the service. Rooms were lovely and clean with free air conditioning, a must in a country such as Turkey. You've also got the option of a safe in the room for a small fee, something we paid for. Beds were very comfortable and the balcony area was nice and clean with a very handy rack for hanging up things to dry. The food was a Mediterranean cuisine but they also had several things akin to British food (cereal, eggs etc). Staff were absolutely wonderful (including the manager) and exceptionally attentive. Any queries, concerns, questions etc directed to the staff and they were more than happy to try and assist/help. They arranged our quad experience for us and it went fine without any hassle. There's a free bus which takes you to the beach which is a cracking bonus, leaves in the morning and returns in the late afternoon. Overall we had a lovely stay and I'd be more than happy to stay here again :)
