Arrived 7.20pm as a family of 4. Auto check in. 2 members of staff serving guests in the restaurant area. Wanted to query the check in as didn't know how to register my car in the car park, and although had paid for breakfast on my initial booking invoice, the auto check in was wanting to charge me for breakfast. Pressed the bell for attention 3 times. No one came, so I enquired the staff attending guests in the restaurant. Registering your car was on the device by the front door-very easy to walk by, and miss. Room was clean, but so hot!! Beds comfortable and lovely shower. Shortly, once we dropped our luggage off, we were wanting some food. Thought we would eat in the restaurant, only to be told we had to make a reservation, and they were very busy with some large parties of guests. I said shall we head off somewhere else, to which she replied.."best to"-no advice given as to where we could go..so I had to look on Google, or even we could of had food in our room. Have to also add..this weekend away was initially organised by my son for his family in January, only to find his partner was diagnosed with a brain tumour a month later. (Only 30 yrs old with 2 boys, 6 and 9 ) I booked this room at the cheapest none refundable rate, only to find out my son had booked with travelodge the same night elsewhere, which he had forgotten about, as he had his mind on his partner. I had rang up to customer services to Premier Inn, to explain the situation with the double booking on the same night, and they couldn't refund/reschedule. So I was going to lose £73. Decided to call Travelodge to say we wouldn't be coming there that night, and although that booking was unrefunable, they offered to reschedule the date straight away. Shame Premier Inn couldn't use their discretion in these circumstances to do the same..so advice to anyone booking with Premier inn, Is to pay the extra for their reservations...or go with Travelodge.
