V.I.P. House

房間可以，大床房，獨立衞生間，有電扇。唯獨欠缺的就是水龍頭水不大。放在桌上的零食居然有螞蟻。房間性價比還是可以的，很多老外都在。

We had an amazing time at VIP House in Chiang Mai! It is basic in accommodation and in need of some repairs/face lift, but what it lacks in luxury is handsomely compensated by service, location, quality of food and personal attention. The rooms are clean and it is on a quiet side street. The local curry Khao Soi they serve is the best in the city and the cook is a hidden gem that can match up with the finest chefs in town. The manager is very friendly and and she made our Chiang Mai experience better with her advice of activities and organising our day trips. The location is excellent and super close to the main city gate Tha Phae Gate. Shopping, markets, temples, cafés, restaurants are all close by. Highly recommend it!

Old and decaying. My very first day sink fell off the bathroom wall and broke to a thousand pieces because the bracket holding it and the cement wall were deteriorated and crumbling away. They made me pay! I used to like Dut Fan, the owner, but not now.

V.I.P house is owned by a very very lovely local family, and the daughter who runs it speaks fluent Italian and English, and is willing to answer any inquires you have. I found the family very helpful and charming, and accomodating. Many old timers stay here for years, and many regulars from Pai stay here as well everytime they come to town. They would not if this place sucks..... The reason they do, is probably the good price, wonderful breakfast and big size rooms ( compared to others in this prize range in the area ). And of course location, location, location... But yes, its not a new place but they did some effort with new paint in the rooms, And yes, the shower sucks, but hey, nothing is perfect in life.... I would still recommend this place to anybody on a budget. I was very happy here for a full week and would go back anytime.
