Relais de l'Abbaye

We stayed at this hotel en route back to England. We had only planned to stay for one night, but extended our stay to two. The hotel is modern and conveniently located within 5 minutes walk of the charming little town of Charlieu. It is close to a main road, but set back with a large car park and traffic noise was not a problem . We had the cheapest room (98 Euros). It was small but nicely presented, with a good bathroom. The entire hotel was very clean and staff were very polite and helpful. The high point for us was the restaurant. Breakfast was expensive, so we gave it a miss. However the 3 course evening meal at 37 Euros per person was excellent- which explains why they have a Michelin bib award. We would happily stay there again just for the restaurant.

L’hotel è moderno, in una zona molto tranquilla, appena fuori la piccola cittadina di Charlieu, con la comodità di un ampio parcheggio privato e gratuito. La camera era sufficiente per due persone, col bagno, ben diverso dalle fotografie proposte da Booking, non grandissimo e abbastanza pericoloso, essendo la doccia sprovvista dell’asta per sorreggersi con un pavimento scivolosissimo. La lontananza dallo specchio rendeva inoltre difficoltosa qualsiasi operazione, dal farsi la barba al truccarsi: dove la ricerca del design si scontra con le esigenze di praticità ed ergonomia. Per una struttura nuovissima a tre stelle, si notava la mancanza di un frigobar mentre di positivo l’aria condizionata molto efficiente. Il personale non era particolarmente presente: sia all’arrivo che alla partenza ho dovuto aspettare l'addetto, in quanto l’accoglienza era deserta. La nota più deludente è però stata la colazione: nella media la presenza di salato e dolce ma con un prezzo decisamente fuori mercato: 18 euro a persona, non paragonabile con strutture analoghe che presentavano un’offerta di molto superiore per quantità e qualità

Il faut passer l’apriori du premier regard sur cet hôtel. Il a l’air mal situé car il est dans une zone commerciale, mais en fait, il est à 2 pas des centres d’intérêt de Charlieu. Il a l’aspect d’un hôtel moderne et sans charme alors qu’on y est extrêmement bien, que les chambres sont modernes et confortables et, si vous êtes au rez-de-chaussée, vous aurez la chance d’avoir un petit balcon au vert et aménagé devant votre chambre . L’endroit est calme.Le restaurant est gastronomique . Le personnel est ultra sympathique et accueillant. Vraiment une bonne adresse découverte par hasard.

Nuitée d'étape très agréable, sans bruit, personnel très bien, avec un très bon restaurant.
