Chanoudgarh

I have travelled a lot, but I have never stayed anywhere as beautiful as here! The hotel is steeped in rich history, which the owner will happily take you on a tour of if you ask. The rooms are palatial, with huge bathrooms and changing rooms made of marble. As we arrived they had petals dropping from the roof, and had our path lined with marigolds. The food was also incredible - very fresh, homemade, and lots of it! We couldn't recommend more highly. On the final day we were taken on a walk around the village, and introduced to the locals through a photo game they plan. We were also invited to help hand out new school uniforms at the school, which was very sweet. We went for our honeymoon and hope to return in the future for an anniversary - it was a truly the most memorable experience.

The welcome from the family who own this extraordinary property was warm and wonderful. The service and interaction with all other staff members was lovely. As others have said, the rooms are astonishing in size, our bed was super comfy and our shower room fit for a king. We did the jeep ride with one of the owners, driving through the countryside, spotting amazing birds, including a pair of sarus cranes and arriving at the pelican and flamingo filled lake, where the staff had set out safari chairs and offered gin and tonics or masala chai and delicious nibbles to sip and taste as we watched the sun set over the Aravalli Mountains. Goodness. All meals are included and served from the kitchen from family recipes in a variety of dining areas in this huge place.

A family owned palace/fort hotel in Chanoud. Lovingly restored by the 4th generation family living there. 300 years of history and family lore. 7 suite rooms, each different. Don't miss out on this extrodinary hotel. Our suite was entered off the beautiful veranda, into a sitting area, a large bedroom with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. There was another door leading to another veranda. The decor is vibrant and welcoming. Dining began in the stunning courtyard and continued in the dramatic stone space. Breakfast was in a sunlit roof area. The tour of palace by the owner is a must. A true labor of love, the family supports the local goverment school and the local women. I could spend more time here.

Chanoud Garh is well worth a visit when you travel between Jodphur and Udaipur. It is a peaceful, beautiful, and charming place to stay where you can experience an inside view of life in past years. The rooms are huge and extremely comfortable, the food is excellent and all the staff are delightful. Spending time with the family is the highlight of any visit to Chanoud and they are all full of interesting stories of life in Chanoud past and present

We just spent an extraordinary 2 days at Hotel Chanoud Garh. This is a very special hotel and town. Rooms were unbelievable Service and food impeccable An opportunity to interact with guests was a major positive. The tour through town and the meeting of children and families was so special. The food was the best that I had in India, and the rooms were quite luxurious. I especially enjoyed hearing about the history of the family and the area. The family makes a real effort to help the guests and the locals get to know each other a bit. It’s much nicer than simply feeling like a voyeur.

We really enjoyed our stay at this quite historic homestay and were made very welcome by the owners and given a small tour of the family building.Its situated at the end of the road in this small village quite private which is nice. It was a stopover night on our way to Jodhpur so not alot of time spent there but we enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard with plenty of daybeds and seating areas. Our space was very large with sitting area, bedroom and huge bathroom. Would highly reccomend to stay here if you can.

Amazing hotel with stunning, unusual, huge rooms. The food was very good. What makes this place special was the family who owns and operates it. They did everything they could to make us feel part of their family. The jeep ride through the countryside was fantastic including drinks overlooking the lake at sunset. Don’t miss the village walk. The villagers were friendly and so happy to see us. This hotel is a can’t miss.

An absolutely marvelous family heritage mansion converted into an elegant boutique hotel with small town charm. We loved meeting the father and siblings that have turned this property into a unique and wonderful stopping point ***** our journeys in Rajasthan. Highlights included the elegance of the palace grounds, a sunset jeep tour, and wandering through the village to meet local people who were extremely welcoming. This was something special!
