Firstly,my stay at this hotel was an embarrassment for my husband (a diamond member) and I, as well as our other family members (my sister and her husband) whom were traveling and celebrating with us (my husband and sisters birthday). Upon arrival, with all lights turned off, the appearance seemed eerie and uninviting. However my husband, family members, and I, were extremely tired from traveling, and we were just satisfied with arriving at the hotel. With the front desk attendant having a hard English language and a customer-oriented approach. The front desk staff member the second night, presented a charming personality and strong English language skills. Breakfast the next morning was average, with the kitchen staff being the only notable aspect of our stay. Overall, this Hilton hotel did not measure up to my previous experiences at other Hilton properties in Istanbul. Furthermore, my stay in the room left much to be desired. The refrigerator's cooling capacity was insufficient, and the air conditioning would abruptly stop working during the night, making it challenging to get a good night's sleep. Taking a shower was also an unpleasant experience due to the excessively cold water temperature. To add to the list of disappointments, the bar staff's language skills were found wanting, and their reliance on Google for cocktail recipes proved futile, making it impossible for my husband and me to enjoy a leisurely drink. As Hilton Diamond members, my husband and I have a card on file, allowing us to charge our wine and beer etc.. to our room. However, our fellow travelers encountered our bill discrepancy at check-out, and being threatened with police resulting in a regrettable confrontation that left me feeling embarrassed. Lastly, included, either following or arriving prior to, will be a screenshot of the receipt that I received. This receipt is what my family had to pay. My family met me at the airport, as we had to take separate taxis, they were more than 20 minutes behind because of this. And the 20 minutes was the most stressful part, as I am trying to catch a flight and we are traveling together. Upon my family’s arrival I was given the receipt and the first thing noticed was a copy of a credit card receipt printout. Meaning it wasn’t itemized and I was unable to review the receipt with staff for any discrepancies.
