If you are staying in Castro, this might be a good choice. It's an interesting building built into a hillside with views of the harbour. The building was well designed but it's a little bit tired now. Staff were reasonably helpful. There was parking off the street and secure. Right in the downtown, an easy walk to restaurants, stores, the Mercado, etc.

The staff were rude, the hotel is very noisy, rooms are tiny, breakfast is insufficiently catered for with not even salt on the tables let alone a glass or a serviet. Don't go!

This hotel is something of a landmark, loved by architects for its striking design. The public areas are indeed impressive, with wonderful views over the bay (rain and mist permitting). Sadly, our room (in the original building) didn't really match this standard, being very plain and basic, with depressing decor. It was clean, with a reasonably comfortable bed, but not somewhere you'd want to spend time other than for sleeping. The plumbing was also rather unpredictable, with our shower swinging between cold and scalding for no apparent reason. The breakfast was ok, if rather unexciting. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there is onsite parking.

Beautiful architecture that has been left to crumble. The entire hotel needs an overhaul. Room are small, uncomfortable and outdated. Strong sewage smell in bathroom that could not be rectified. Noisy inside and outside of the hotel so you could not leave the windows open at night and there is no air conditioning.

There was fungus in the bathroom, in the shower and walls.
Restaurant menu has a wide variety of food and drinks, service at the restaurant very nice, perfect.
We had an issue but there was responsibility of the front desk, they did not take the guarantee of my stay and gave me the room key anyway. The person who was on night shift call us at 00.30am yelling at the phone to inform us the inconvenient they have and hang up meanwhile he was speaking on the phone. Front Desk knew that we leave next day at 06.00am, we notice that at our check-in twice. Next day I paid directly and the person (old man) was not able to empathize nor apologize. That manner made our stay difficult to enjoy and none of us feel welcome, safe and confortable.
