Pros Great location Room was ready when we arrived at 12pm Comfortable bed and quiet room Attractive bar and restaurant areas Well equipped gym Good breakfast Looked after our luggage after check-out Cons Bathroom floor was dusty and carpet could be cleaner (found lots of hair on the carpet) Bombarded with emails in the week prior trying agree to upgrade to a more expensive room (for an extra fee) and again at check-in Doorman not very welcoming No wet facilities unless you pay extra

Excellent things: Beautifully designed spaces Spotlessly clean, felt like the first person to stay there. Excellent location for nightlife in Cardiff, few mins walk away, brilliant. Bad things Freezing cold room, couldn’t heat up Noisy air conditioning, couldn’t turn off - like trying to sleep with a hairdryer going all night Poor mattresses. They were very firm, but not in a new mattress supportive way, the mattresses felt old. Very disappointing for a high end hotel. This hotel looks the part, but unfortunately the level of service provided is not consistent with what you would expect with a high end hotel. When I arrived, the entrance has 2 steep banks of stairs and a platform lift. I had a suitcase and looked around. No nice young man to help me with my case. The lift had a heavy door, hard to do with a suitcase and bad back. I managed to get in. Pressed the up button, nothing happened, 5 mins of fiddling worked it out, but no one came to help. Very rude waitress at breakfast told me off for not being seated by matre de, but there was no one there. She told her manager in such a loud voice that everyone could hear - that lady, she pointed, is just helping herself to food and shouldn’t be here! I had paid for breakfast, there was no member of staff to check which room I was in and the buffet was about to end! Shockingly terrible customer service experience.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Cardiff. Great shower and bathrobes a nice touch. Really comfortable bed and nice bedding. All staff very friendly. A couple of negatives - stain on the sofa in our room. Slightly annoying that the spa isn't included for hotel guests and this isn't clear on booking. There was an email just before arrival to tell us this, would have been good to know when booking as the spa was fully booked on the day of arrival if we had wanted to go.

Well appointed hotel, however bedroom was dark with poor lighting. No bath, 30mls shower gel between us. Sheets were so noisy when you moved and the bed was uncomfortable. We had a road facing room which was very busy and so the noise continued all night. Sound proofing was not good. Breakfast was appalling. What was on the hot buffet was cold if there was anything left. Seen more appealing dishwater which they called tea!! On check out I had to ask where I gave comments, the chap on front desk was not interested. No parking/ area to drop off, pick up. Would we stay again?? Nope, not a chance

Excellent property set next to the train station and minutes from the main shopping centre. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice. Staff really friendly. Would stay again.

Fantastic hotel, excellent service, room was very comfortable. Best hotel in Cardiff Will definitely return!!!
