The Silverdale Hotel

A chance find (chosen by my wife...of course) and we were delighted we did so. Great food, beer and service. A first rate experience, highly recommended. Note: we arrived at 12.30, by hour later it was getting far busier. It's a bit of a trek from north Devon...but we are planning to return to this stunning part of the world and a great pub.

A country pub with rooms doesn't get much better than this. The rooms, the food, and the ambience are superb and as for the staff......well......they were absolutely brilliant. Hugely good fun but at the same time caring and efficient. If I were to run a pub this is how I would like it to be. Thank you Silverdale Hotel for making a difficult trip so much easier to cope with.

Very disappointed, we walked 2.5 miles intending to get a sandwich only to find that they couldn't manage this as they had a party of 13 booked in. We were the only ones sat in the garden and the bar was no where near full, we also didn't mind if we had to wait.

We stayed for 2 nights as we wanted to go birding around Morecambe Bay, Arnside and Leighton Moss RSPB. The weather was not ideal, so spending time in a welcoming, cosy, comfy pub/hotel was ideal. We had Room 5, which although small, had everything we needed/wanted. Big comfy bed, excellent shower, plenty of tea and coffee supplies and a lovely view across to the bay. And warm! Friends were in Room 4 which is much bigger, and has a bath with shower over, but I prefer a proper shower. Breakfast was very good - cooked freshly to order with quality bacon and sausage. Perfect. We ate both nights in the restaurant and again enjoyed our dinners. I’d be very happy indeed to stay here again. Thank you to the team for looking after us.

This was our second time staying here, and hopefully not our last. The hotel is the perfect bolthole for a few nights away from it all in the beauty of Morecambe Bay. Special thanks goes to the staff, who were all fantastic, incredibly friendly, and went out of their way to make our trip run smoothly. The food here is especially good - with wonderful, freshly prepared breakfasts a highlight but the food in the pub at lunchtime and in the evenings so good we had no inclination to explore the other (probably excellent!) restaurants and pubs nearby. On a cold, winter's, day I could have spent all day by the fire trying various dishes! The rooms are simple yet cosy - even during the freezing weather of our stay and the perfect place from which to watch the stormy weather descend onto the village and surrounding countryside. On both this occasion and the previous time we stayed I was impressed with how clean and well presented everything is on the hotel side with great quality bed linens and plenty of fluffy towels and nice toiletries in the bathroom. Thanks again for a great weekend - we'll surely be back sometime soon.

Very great staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I liked the table service at mealtimes. Food very good but portions much too large. Didn’t like the coffee being cold at breakfast.

This little hotel is fabulous, the staff were excelent, friendly and helpful from checking in, serving us with our evening meal to check out. We stayed in Room 5, although very small, it had everything we needed. There were lovely thick, very large towels available, nice body wash and cream along with bottled water. Just missing for me was a long mirror and just one comment - the bathroom had obviously been refurbished to a very high standard with a lovely powerful shower, unfortunately mould around the edges has just started to creep in - a quick squrt with a specialist solution will sort this out I am sure. The breakfast, cooked to order at an agreed time with ourselves was excelent, the produce was of good quality and cooked to perfection. We ate in the restuarant at night, it was a little pricey for what was effectively bar food, we had to wait for a long time as the pub itself was rammed - however when it did come it was again lovely. I think residents would benefit from the option of a set meal where they could if they wanted have two or three courses at a resonable price.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely area.Really comfy bed,overlooked lovely garden.We had an evening meal which we really enjoyed it was very good. Breakfast was also amazing. Would definately stay again.

This is an old building, but well up to the job. Especially liked to control the room heating ourselves. The area is superb, maybe too quiet for some - not us ! Shelley (owner ?) falls over backwards to help, the rest of the staff try to keep up. Bar always open, no food Monday, but an Indian nearby (Pick carefully !). Ideal for those who enjoy the solitude of nature.
