Capitola Venetian Hotel

I've always wanted to stay in the little houses. It was quite nice, except to use the kitchen, you have to rent dishes ($25) and pans ($25). Had I known this, i could have brought dishes and silverware from home so we could have our breakfast. Had to do a dash to the grocery store and buy some paper plates/plastic flatwear. Didn't need to be able to cook, but I might have wanted to. Usually, a kitchen implies that it's possible. We had an issue with one of the lamps, and the staff fixed it immediately. Otherwise, it was a great location and now that I know about the dishes, I can bring my own. I definitely would come again.

It's right on the beach and that excuses much. My room was odd, had been a studio with separate dining room but had been switched so that bed was jammed in the former dining room, 3 sides against the walls. Only motel room I've ever been in where the tv was not visible from the bed. Had kitchenette with gas stove/oven but they really don't want you to use it, no pots plates knife fork salt or pepper, not even paper plates. Just a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster. Bathroom toilet alcove claustrophobically narrow. There is no heat or a/c at all in the room, fine in warm weather. Parking is hell, I nearly got towed just trying to check in but once in, it's included. Elsewhere in Capitola Village, you'll need a bag of quarters. But despite all this, it's right on the beach, and you can hear the waves at night.

You can't beat the location! right on the water, right in Capitola Village. That part is spectacular. And from a distance, it is adorable and scenic! But this is a property built in the 1920's and is apparently on the registry of historic landmarks. Don't get me wrong, very cool. But as such, it is old and could use some sprucing up! The bathroom is tiny and dilapidated, the carpet one you don't want to walk on barefoot. And the old motel smell that hits you as you enter is just hard to stomach the entire stay. Would we stay again? Probably, as the location and quaintness of it is excellent, but now I'm better prepared to know what to expect. But beds and pillows very comfortable-that was a big plus!

The location was perfect!! Beds were uncomfortable, no utensils, plates, bowls, etc, great kitchenette but nothing in it. People were lovley. We love the hotel but needs some upgredes! The storm last year took out the bottom rooms, so i think they're working on the property!!

I feel hesitant giving this review because this place is the best kept secret. Place was amazing. So cool. Staff were awesome. Place was awesome. Price was awesome. Perfect lil place. 20/10 would stay again.

A bit small for someone 80 years old. My wife had to crawl across me to get out of bed since there was no room on her side or at the foot of the bed. The bed was crammed into a very small space.

Great little spot for a girls getaway! Check-in was a breeze! Rebecca was so kind and informational! Epic location and they have a parking lot to boot -- can't ask for anything more when you're on the beach!

The motel is unique and iconic. It is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. It is extremely accessible and walkable to downtown Capitola and the beachfront.

The most relaxing, cozy cottages. Would recommend to my family and friends. Definitely coming back.
