Discovery Parks - Burrill Lake, Ulladulla

Exceptionally friendly staff - easy check in, provided all necessary details. Comfortable cabin with all we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay

We stayed on a powered site located near the main entrance. Approx. $110 per night. On arrival, I walked into the main office and saw the Assistant Manager Graham seated behind the counter. I said, "Hi, how's it going?" He replied sarcastically, "Awesome." He then checked me in without any further comment or eye contact. The only time he spoke to me was to explain the conditions of entry. On our first night, we were walking back from the local IGA store and heard a male employee seated inside a Discovery Park buggy near the main entrance gates jokingly refer to a customer as a "f.........ing c...t". My wife was appalled at the language used in a family park. Most mornings we were woken by the industrial bins being emptied between 4:50am and 5:30am. At night, we were kept awake by young teenagers roaming the area in groups screaming and laughing without any supervision. Children riding their bikes at all hours of the night. One morning, around 2:00am, we were woken by men yelling at each other regarding a mobile phone. All because Discovery Parks cancelled the Security service that has been offered by previous management companies like Big 4. My wife refuses to walk to the amenities at night on her own as she does not feel safe. New bathrooms - shower heads leak and pools of water are common occurrences outside the showers. New Year's Eve at 12:20am, only 20 minutes after the countdown, we were aggressively approached by the Assistant Manager Graham who yelled, "Turn the music off!" I asked, "What, turn it down?" He yelled, "No! Turn it off!" and walked off. This is totally unacceptable for a New Year's Eve celebration which in the past years, has been allowed to finish around 1:00am. The general culture at this location ensures that holidayers are made to feel like a hinderance or inconvenience rather than a welcomed guest. They seem to forget that we too have just endured a long year at work and now seek a welcomed and relaxed holiday. After attending this location for 25 years, our family has decided to find a caravan park that still holds good old values and respect for their guests. And in the half day we went searching the Ulladulla area, we found quite a few, and, $30 per night cheaper for the same period. On the good note, Samantha (Manager) has done an incredible job engaging entertainment, food stalls, and activities that have not been experienced in the past. I would like to congratulate Sam for that achievement. It's just a shame Sam isn't supported by staff who share the same attitude as her. Also, we found the ground / maintenance staff to be excellent. Most gave a welcoming smile and were willing to address any identified issues. Oh, and finally, that electrical fault that we reported many years ago where you receive an electric shock while turning on the water tap (except if you're wearing thongs), it hasn't been fixed.

Positive: Cabin was spacious, good water pressurre. Beds and pillows were comfy. Had adequate kitchen equipment. The lake view was really lovely. Negative: - Almost no wifi in our cabin, and we actually weren't that far from the reception building. For 3 days i was only able to connect once but signal was very weak. - After reception closed, we couldn't rent boats/kayaks, minigolf and even games room equipment. So really the only thing u could do in the afternoon/evening was swim or jump on the trampoline unless u brought your own bikes, tennis racquets or ping pong equipment. It seemed like such a waste considering the sun didnt set until 8pm. - No aircon fan in the 2nd bedroom. You have to blast up the ac in the living room so the cold would reach the 2nd room.

Great location with lots of activities for the kids. Kangaroos roam freely. Would have loved to be able to stay longer, but was part of a bigger trip. Recommend to all ages whether your in a tent, van of cabin. Great park.

I loved staying for a couple nights with the family. The cabins were spacious and provided everything we needed. It conveniently had a washing machine and enough sheets and blankets for all the beds. The property was well looked after and had a couple extra things for the kids to do especially during a rainy day. If I could change something it would only be to have available in the cabin/brochure opening and closing times of the reception area, pool, mini putt putt etc and possibly recommendations for local eating areas.

We only had a one night stay but if we were thinking of a longer stay this would be perfect. Very clean and spacious cabin.

My two girls and I are enjoyed staying here. We found it an all-rounder offering activities for families and couples. the staff were very friendly and the cabin were clean. Being on the lake was certainly a bonus. We will definitely be visiting again so we can take my husband.

Spotless, spacious cabin. Everything working. Lovely welcome light and aircon on.Heated pool.Lake and nature.

Really liked our cabin and will try to book it for next year. Only disappoin**ent was the very patchy WiFi, sometimes only on for a few minutes, sometimes not at all, not a big problem as we were on holidays. Will definitely be back.
