Pest-Buda Design Hotel

Excellent location, well preserved building. No elevator so avoid it if you have many luggage or difficulties in moving. Do not book with breakfast as they mean just two croissants and an orange juice.

Had a wonderful stay for three nights at pest-buda hotel, great location, wonderful staff, gorgeous food, incredible decor. Our only issue we had was the building work going on straight across from the hotel was very noisy from around 7am. Now this is an occurrence all over Budapest so no reflection on the hotel or service from the hotel. Would highly recommend Pest-Buda Hotel and Bistro for visiting. Its perfect location was just what we were looking for during our stay.

On the day of my arrival, in the late afternoon, I received a phone call from the hotell enquiring about my check-in time. (I think I had indicated an earlier check-in when I made the reservation) As the reception is not staffed after 19.00, and I was not able to arrived before this, they said I would receive an sms with my key retrieval instructions, and they also explained them over the phone. Sure enough, just after this I got the sms, including information that I had been upgraded to the suite (sweeet, I thought (pun intended)) So far, so good. And the good just kept coming 😊 I found the hotel easily, and when I struggled with the lock-box (for my key), the staff at the bistro connected to the hotel, were more than happy to help. The interior was charming and I found my way to the second floor (or 1st floor for those who use Ground floor 🤷). My suite was absolutely delightful! The layout of the room and the art on the wall gave it a charm that you don't get in the bigger (chain) hotels. The bathroom was an open solution, but seperated from the sleeping areal with a divider wall. (so if you're not staying by yourself, I recommend you share this suite with someone you're familiar and comfortable with 😉 There is a curtain for the bath area, but it's see-through, so it's not for the shy) Oh, and the toilet is hidden behind what seems to be cupboard doors, quite cute actually, but again, you should be sharing the room with someone you're comfortable with 🤷 The bed was - for me - good, because I prefer a hard mattress, but I guess this could be a goldilocks scenario. If you prefer to sink into a soft mattress, you might have a rough night ahead.. So far, still good! So, the bad? The only thing that comes to mind is that the windows are not soundproofed. So you'll hear the chatter from the bistro downstairs, until they close quite early in the evening. You'll also hear passing buses and other traffic, but in general this is a really quiet area. So not so bad, after all 😊 Finally, the lovely. How else to describe the people running the hotel and the bistro 😊 Thank you so much for a lovely stay, I enjoyed it immensely and will definitely stay there if I'm going back to Budapest.

Absolutely love this hotel. It’s in a gorgeous quiet neighborhood close to Buda Castle. The restaurant is fantastic too. The rooms are warm and luxurious. Felt like home. Staff is friendly and attentive and accommodating.

We stayed for four nights, with a twin room and double room. Rooms were spotlessly clean, great showers, lovely Nespresso coffee and complementary filtered water. Beds were firm so took a bit of getting used. Lovely cotton bedding and feather pillows. We had a great time there and when building work opposite us finished it will be quieter in the mornings. French breakfast was really good. I’d definitely stay again. Nice quiet part of the city and with frequent buses and cheap taxis it’s still accessible to the Pest’ side.

Well situated and very comfortable, for just now a room at the back would be good as major building works at the front. "Frenchy" breakfast very good and sets you up for the day, well located for Castle Area visits. Watch the restaurant though, a 15% service charge on top of menu prices not obviously displayed.

good place and warm staff. we came for a short vacation in Budapest for about 4 days. if I need to recommend something to be improved, probably to have a window in the room. we love to enjoy the atmosphere and the environment in Budapest.

What a beautiful, charming, comfortable hotel! This place has age, style, and character, but also lots of modern comforts. The location is walkable to all the castle sites and restaurants. The staff is super friendly. I loved the desk in our room and the ability to open the windows and here the quiet street ambiance.
