The Mill House Hotel

It was very quiet when we arrived for a mid week 6pm table but it took 45 minutes to be seated. The 2 waitresses worked extremely hard but it was clear they were understaffed as service was slow and tables were dirty. The decor was cheap and tired and you would never have known that it was refurbed in the distant past. Music was totally unsuitable for dining. The menu concentrated on generic burger and pasta options however the food that we had was all cooked beautifully. It might be a little slow but the food was definitely worth the wait and we still had a good evening. A couple of minor niggles are that 3 blackcurrants and soda waters (not even pints) costs £9.75. Also, the car park isn’t lit up so people might struggle back to their cars in the dark.

Yesterday we went for Sunday lunch and as there were a large number we were asked to choose from the menu the day before The meal was absolutely delicious, served really quickly and the staff were so pleasant and helpful Thanks to you all for making this such a pleasant experience for us.

Easy check in process Internet works fine Room nice A lot of noice from neighbors rooms most of the night Bar service great nice place good options for drinks and food Restaurant was busy que was long and we decided not to wait to get food in the restaurant

The best hotel I have stayed in hands down 3 dogs 🐕 not a problem service is 5 star food just wow 😍 and breakfast was amazing 😋 👌 Honestly they could not do anything more to make us feel welcome please do not hesitate to book here for a break with ur pooches you will not regret it 5 star all the way for me just wish I had taken more pics of the breakfast just wow

We hadn’t eaten here before, but stopped in past for dinner on our way back from Elgin. We were a family group who all ordered different meals. The food was absolutely amazing! Everything was cooked fresh and tasted delicious! The staff were friendly and their service was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely. Overall we were all very impressed and will definitely return!

Stranded following lost car key, couldn’t have asked for a finer hostelry to await recovery. Food and service excellent. Their Cullen Skink particularly enjoyed. A true Helmand hospitality welcome given my predicament, not to be driven past in a hurry. Next visit with purpose.

The location , staff and food were excellent as was the value for money. The hotel location is perfect for local business experience. The restaurant has a good choice of homemade food which are exceptional.

Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The lady working in the restaurant for breakfast (sorry, didn't catch her name!) was wonderful and worked so hard for the guests. Review for room 9. We had awful sleep with a horrid bed. It was a double and single bed base pushed together with two double spring mattresses on top. Due to the mattress overhang it provided little support and we both left with aches and pains. The shower was the noisiest shower I think I've ever heard! You had to turn the shower on, then press a button for water to run. The shock of the noise when one was sleeping was horrid! Would have been useful for staff to have told us about this. The walls are paper thin, so if you enjoy listening to conversations from 3 rooms down, this is the hotel for you! Kettle in the room had water in when we checked in, so clearly hadn't been cleaned. Room photos on the website are for the suite rooms and not standard rooms.

Not happy with millhouse not been there for a while but has gone down hill since last visit . They explained they were looking for a new chef ,even so it was poor. I'm not complaining about waitress service or bar staff was great they can only serve . There menu was much reduced and only had ribeye steak and price was inflated. Didn't want to say to much because wasn't wanting to spoil the night for the birthday girl . We used to go alot but after last night will leave it ,and hopefully in future they may sort it out.
