Ctrip didn't emphasize this crucial point, which is a real letdown in terms of service. Furthermore, contacting Ctrip customer service only resulted in automated responses that didn't resolve the issue. Finally, I mustered the courage to call the hotel and awkwardly attempted self-service check-in in English."

"A lovely hotel, not too far from the railway station in Brig. We had a comfortable room on the 4th floor. Some rooms on the lower floors have a balcony. The art deco style decor in the dining room is delightful. It’s common for hotels to provide complementary bottles of water in the bedrooms. But if you stay for more than one night and use the bottled water it is far less common for the water to be replaced. So top marks to Hotel Ambassador for that. We stayed for 4 nights on a group trip run by Great Rail Journeys. For dinner we were given very limited choice. The food was a little uninspired, but I suspect this is partly down to the budget for meals set by GRJ, so I’ll say no more."

"The small hotel room is not big but quite cozy. The old lady boss is very enthusiastic. We arrived very early in the morning, thinking that there might not be any available rooms to check in. The old lady said that you should have a cup of coffee in the restaurant first while I go to see if there are any ready rooms, so she asked the waiter to bring us two cups of coffee. Before the coffee was finished, she came back and said that the room was ready and you could go to the room after you finished drinking the coffee."

"The room was clean and spacious. I entered the correct information during self-check-in, but it was rejected several times. Since there was no receptionist, I had to figure it out on my own, wasting a lot of time. It's about a 20-minute walk from the nearest train station, feeling like a mountain climb. Dragging my suitcase along the way was extremely difficult. Furthermore, I was subjected to discriminatory remarks and behavior from a white person in a bar along the way; the surrounding area is not very safe. While I suppose it's unavoidable if you're looking for cheap accommodation in Switzerland (17,000 yen per night), I wouldn't stay there again."

"I was absolutely blown away by this beautiful kind little hotel. From the beginning, the staff was very welcoming and warm, the hotel room was tip top everything perfectly clean and lovely, appreciated slippers waiting for me and also bottles of mineral water. The views from the windows were amazing - snow covered mountains behind the historical town. Blinds on the windows so you can completely black out the room in the morning. What really got me was the kindness in the morning - I had an early appointment and was trying to get a taxi but they were all booked. So the lovely receptionist lady asked a gentleman working in the hotel to drive me and they refused to take money for it! This family-like treatment of guests is becoming rarer and rarer and it really warmed my heart. To finish my impression, I was late for a check out as my appointment took longer than planned, and again, no charge for this, no problem, just smile on face! This would not happen in England where you get charged a lot of money for just half an hour late check out. I really look forward to have the opportunity to come back to Brig and stay in this amazingly welcoming and beautiful hotel. Kate"

"Ficámos aqui para um fim de semana de esqui em Wallis, em um dos novos quartos. Foi positivo surpreendido pelo alto padrão do quarto, tudo estava limpo e o quarto familiar era muito espaçoso. Não foi brilhante. O pequeno-almoço estava bem, a sala de pequeno-almoço é bastante incómodo. É bom que o hotel inclua uma pista de bowling e várias outras ofertas de lazer."
