The Brae Hotel

非常好的一家酒店，老闆人特別好，熱心善良，告訴我們哪些景點非常值得去，酒店處在主島中心地帶，景色非常美，緊鄰超市和加油站還有小賣店，一個魚薯條店很近，還有一個外賣中餐館，但是味道是那種國外改良版，更接近台灣那種，但是我推薦酒店的午餐和晚餐，可以跟老闆説自己想吃什麼，老闆會非常精心的給準備，我們開始不知道，跟老闆交流後，老闆給準備的魚餐和雞肉餐，當然要求都是按照我們要求做的，非常美味，當然中餐老闆是不會做的，不過老闆做的咖哩飯其他遊客説很好吃，因為我們喜歡吃清淡的，味道跟米其林也差不多，酒店床軟硬適 中，設施洽到好處。我們是去看極光的，老闆還告訴我們哪裡去看比較好，哪個網站看預警，這個酒店温馨的像家一樣，推薦大家一定訂這家酒店，不過夏天要提前三個月預訂呀，否則沒有位置。

We stayed at the Brae Hotel from 31 May to 4 June with two other couples. We couldn’t fault the place, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the food is great and very good value. Tracy, Suzanne and Dave have a great team of staff; so friendly and welcoming across the board. Special mention has to go to Scott and Curtis who run the bar, wait on tables and also run breakfast ! They made our holiday with their excellent service, morning karaoke (!) and all round can do attitude. We can definitely recommend this great hotel, very well situated in North Mainland too. Can’t wait to visit here again!

Highly recommend this hotel. I was travelling alone for work and stayed here for 2 nights. As a solo female traveller 600+ miles from home I planned to stay in my room with my laptop when not out working but the staff here are so good I didn't stay in my room much at all. The reception staff are so friendly and Curtis and Scott made my trip! They are so eager and great at their job, they couldn't have done more to make me feel so comfortable. Breakfast in the mornings was cheery with their singing too! They literally do not stop! Even when I came in late one night from work they were just heading out the door to go home but stopped when I came in to make sure I have everything I need before they eventually left. They even had my stresshead husband back home relaxing as he knew i felt comfortable and well looked after because of them! Managers take note because these boys need a promotion and high recognition. Will definitely be staying again

Very fiendly and efficient staff, particularly hats off to Scott and Curtis for their excellent services. Rooms confortable, food good, adequate choice. Great position in northern mainland for touring. Would definitely return and recommend to friends.

Comfortable hotel in a very good location for exploring Shetland. Food is excellent and local seafood often appears on the menu. The mussels are highy recommended. Waiters/bar staff, Scott and Curtis are very friendly, efficient and welcoming. - born to be in hospitality. Thanks for looking after us.

The Brae Hotel makes an excellent base for touring Shetland. It is centrally situated and, whilst the rooms are simple and functional, they have everything you need. The food in the restaurant is great - the menu is small but it changes each night (always a good sign) and everything I tried during the week I was there was delicious. The restaurant is also very good value. The best thing about this hotel, however, is the staff who are, without exception, cheery, helpful and enthusiastic. A special mention to Scott and Curtis in the dining room: they are a great team who have a fantastic rapport with customers and go above and beyond to ensure everyone has an enjoyable stay.

Just returned home from Shetland Islands and wanted to immediately write a review about the Brae hotel. We were a German travelling group of fourteen, who had spent a lovely week on Shetland Islands and in the Brae hotel. For me personally, I couldn't have wished for more nicer hotel team than that of Brae hotel. Especially Scott and Curtis in the hotel restaurant. Adore these two. One of the reasons I'm sad to leave Shetland. The service and attention to us was on point. Missed the music and their positivity in the morning, when they got some free days. These two are really the heart and soul of the hotel. I wish I had stayed in contact with them. The room itself was nice, the bed was comfortable and most things were fine. Maybe it can be loud sometimes because of the bar next to the hotel, but it depends on where your room is. Also it can be sometimes chaotic in the restaurant, when Scott and Curtis are not there. But I'm too picky. :) However, the food is always great. (Probably have gained at least three stones as Scott promised :) ) In general, I would definitely recommend the hotel itself. The positive aspects definitely outweigh. -

My wife and I spent 4 nights here during our visit to the Shetlands. The Brae is situated in the middle of the Mainland island in the small village of Brae and is conveniently located to most of the many sites this island has to offer. It is a two story hotel with no elevator/lift so I booked a room on the ground floor. We arrived early, about 9:30 after arriving on the early morning ferry from Aberdeen and the front desk attendant got us into our room immediately…munch appreciated. The hotel is quiet and nicely decorated but is not particularly exceptional. The room was a little small but comfortable with a view out a small window at the picturesque inlet that lies next to the village. The room has the basic amenities you expect in a motel style hotel. The main selling point for the Brae is its restaurant and to a lesser extent bar. My wife and I believe what truly made the Brae a fantastic stay were the two gentlemen who seem to do everything associated withe the restaurant and bar. They greet and sit you, serve, cook, act as bar tenders and I believe cook. They probably clean up and do the dishes. And they do this with while delivering their customer service with a smile. .Because of them and pleasant experience and good food we ate every breakfast and dinner at the hotel….something we do not normally do. Curtis and Scott are we believe the heart and soul of the Brae…at least as we experienced it. On the subject of meals the fish and chips restaurant across the street is a decent lunch option, sans alcoholic drinks. I would recommend that the hotel find a way to open the bar an hour or two before the restaurant opens at 6:00. I highly recommend the Brae, particularly if Scott and Curtis are there.

Am a guide and was there a couple of days ago with a group from Finland..Curtis and Scott are the dynamic duo and provide fabulous service..two lovely lads. A bonus is that they look good too..think I left a bit of my heart there mind..Great Scott! lol
