Blenheim Lodge

Huge beds, huge breakfasts and huge warm welcome. Just what we needed as we came to the end of a tough Dalesway walk. Very relaxed, the breakfast was hearty, the heating was on, the beds were big and comfortable and the atmosphere was calm and blissful, matched only by the views.

Absolute vile, they own 2 dogs and they have urinated in the lobbys, the owner is a really nasty man but the lady was not bad. The rooms smell and the place is just not nice. My partner will also be giving there thoughts and will put this place to shame. My advise is do not stay here and go elsewhere. There old son lives there also as he can't afford to move out and smells of grease

I had a lovely stay at Blenheim Lodge, Janz and her family were welcoming, friendly, and happy to give advice on the local area. Breakfast was included within my stay, and I really enjoyed both the packed breakfast option -which you can take with you whilst exploring, and the sit-down breakfast, within the comfortable dinning room. I especailly loved the tasty pastries provided! The view from my bedroom was beautiful, and the Lodge was comfortable, quiet, and clean. I had many wonderful chats with Janz, and I loved exploring Bowness and Lake Windermere. I would certainly recommand people visit Bowness/Windermere if they want some amazing views and some fresh lake air! It's the perfect place to relex, unwind, and feel at peace. I would also strongly recommand Blenheim Lodge as the perfect place to stay for anyone who wants to relex after a day out and about seeing the sights. I am already thinking about my next stay!

Very close to Dales Way for great walks directly from the property, also within a short walking distance of the town and lake, lots of options for cafe's pubs and restaurants. Really great base for South Lakes

Lovely room and friendly atmosphere. Grand views of the lake and nearby Bowness. Delicious full English breakfast. The host was most helpful in making our plans before and during our visit. Great location, shorty walk into town for shopping and restaurants.

Lovely view and clean quiet property. Watch out for the hill to climb to get there though!

We booked a two night weekend stay at the location. We often stay in bowness and this was the first visit to Blenheim lodge. On arrival we were greeted by Robert and Jans who couldn’t have been friendlier. We were shown to the room which was spotless and very cosy. The room had everything we needed for the weekend. The room had great views which you don’t get at other locations. Towels are changed as often as you need them and I’m sure if we needed anything during our stay jans would have been only too happy to help. Breakfasts are in the form of a packed lunch due to Covid but you get a few different things you can eat during the day. Overall it’s a great little place to stay and we would definitely recommend.

Fantastic stay, better than expected! The views are outrageous, the location is perfect, so quite and tranquil yet only a 5 minute walk into the bustling town of bowness! We loved every minute of our weekend break and so glad we stayed here. Although they couldn’t provide breakfast due to covid and the breakfast area being in their living quarters, they provided a lovely packed lunch. We called to request milk when we needed it and it was delivered to the room promptly. I cannot fault Blenheim lodge and hope to return in the future!

We had this trip booked for almost 18 months so it was long awaited. We were greeted by Janz and Robert who were both lovely. Our room was the attic room with a lovely bed, dressing table and amazing views. We had a separate en-suite bathroom with a lovely tub! We stayed for 3 nights and slept like babies! The room was a little low but we knew that because it was the attic room. The bath was a very nice luxury after a long walk! Janz was very accommodating and even lent me an iron and put my birthday bottle of champagne in her fridge. We think we were the only residents at the hotel so the evenings were peaceful and restful. We were over all really happy here as it was a great location being a short walk from bowness and then only half an hour from Windermere. The only downside for us was that we didn’t get to experience the famous hot breakfast. Although we got an alternative packed breakfast that suited us more for a lunch meal- helpful when going on a long walk but not very ‘breakfast’ in our eyes.
