I stayed at this hotel for two nights whilst on an Intrepid trip of Caucasus, and therefore I did not select it myself. That said, this hotel was supposed to be our 'feature stay' and to be honest I'm not sure why! The hotel itself is in a great location right next to the cable car that goes up to Borjami, and is an ex-Iranian palace. The interior is beautiful in the state rooms, so it was really disappointing to find that the bar was closed for the whole time we were there, as was the cafe with the romantic garden. When our guide asked why, we couldn't get a proper answer out of the manager. The breakfast room was also beautiful, but was let down by a very sparse / tardy breakfast being laid out, which let it down a bit. Room-wise it was pretty small and also very dark - which wasn't an issue as were barely in the rooms, but I wouldn't describe them as 'feature'. I was also slightly concerned about maintenance - there were a couple of tables / chairs outside the rooms on the balcony - I sat on one and the leg fell off, which caused me to fall on the floor! Overall I really wanted to love this place, but it was let down in a few parts, and therefore I can't really score it more highly. I think if all of its features had been open, it could have been a different story.
