Residence Inn Youngstown Boardman/Poland

I am a big fan of the Residence Inn brand and have stayed at many of their hotels. This was the most disappointing one I have ever been in. If this was my first experience with the RI, I would not be back. Where to begin… the entire hotel needs to be remodeled or at least get a deep, deep cleaning. The carpets appeared dirty, the room smelled funny, the furniture was old and looked a little suspect, the tile had spots, the shower had scars, the toilet was loose, the black out curtains weren’t big enough and let light in. I’d give it a one, but the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Definitely needs some care

Needs an investment and remodel, deep cleaning. Has been about 5 years since I stayed here. No obvious investment since then. My room smelled like wet dog, I wouldn’t sit on the couch for multiple stains, the bathroom and shower were a challenge and need. It is a shame as the area around the hotel has many new restaurants and other investments. After I went to the store and treated the room with febreeze it was tolerable. On a positive note the bed was clean and comfortable

I stayed at the Residence inn by Marriott on Tiffany South Poland oh, in february. It was an unpleasant experience. Entering the building for the first time, just the smell alone makes you want to turn around and leave. It smells like a dog kennel as soon as you walk in. I was checked in by a young girl with red hair. I was not sure if she was an employee there because she was underdressed with informal clothing and she was not wearing a name tag. There was also another short gentlemen behind the desk with a hat on and shorts also not wearing a name tag. I was a little worried because judging by first impressions alone, the hotel seemed dirty and sketchy. After recieving keys to my room, i was placed on third floor. While walking up the stairs i saw loads of animal hair and mud from outside. There was also ALOT of thrash just sitting in hallways and corner of staircase. Upon entering my room, the smell of animal urine and smoke greeted me. The vanity in bathroom i guess does not get wiped down or cleaned for that matter as what appeared to be a mans facial hair on the faucet and sink. Also, there was a huge thick layer of dust on the duct vent in room. I left for a little while and when i returned to shower in my room, there was red stains in my towel. I mentioned my experience to the front desk and all they did was apologize and tell me that they were going to get renovated. Renovations And knowing how to clean are two different things!
