I honestly don't know where to begin with this hotel. It's an absolute disgrace. We are regular visitors to Blackpool and have stayed at a number of hotels / BnBs there over the years, but The Stone House Hotel is by far the worst one we have ever stopped at. We booked a night there for the Illuminations / Firework Championships with our two young children. To be honest, the place looks quite bright and pleasant from the outside, but it quickly turns grim after you walk through the door. The halls and communal area stink of cigarette smoke. We stayed in Room 4, which overlooks the front street and it was revolting. Layers upon layers of gloss slopped all over the walls, broken sockets, broken wardrobe, brown / red stains on the mattress, loose taps, dirty mismatched mugs and a load of property down the side of the bed that belonged to a former guest. Handbag, hairbrush, spectacles and a cigarette lighter. Battery cover missing off the tv remote, suspicious white stains in the draw and and upside down mirror. The list is truly endless. If you happen to be a larger individual, there is no way you are sitting down for a poop. There simply isn't space to sit in the ridiculous ensuite. The shower screen is right infront of the toilet and opens out into the seat. There are two double beds squeezed into the room and they simply don't fit and a bunkbed should replace one of them. We couldn't bring ourselves to use the shower or even brush our teeth in with the water. It felt like the place was crawling. Really feel sorry for the poor chap that man's the desk. He isn't part of the management and simply staffs the front desk and hand south the room keys. He must be faced with so many negative responses from the guests. Just an all round dirty place to sleep. I really want to be positive but there's nothing good about this place. I'd sooner sleep on soggy cardboard outside Coral Island in my underwear than spend another night at this hotel. It seriously needs shutting down and tearing down to bare brick. We paid £94 for this. Revolting.
