The Stranded Hotel

Got in to accommodate early than 3pm very clean beautiful decor only downside kettle didn’t work properly had to kept switching off

The Stranded was nicely decorated, clean and in a good location. It was warm and quite cosy. The booking website said there would be daily housekeeping and although we stayed four nights we didn't get clean towels or mugs or our bins emptied at all. We only got two small shower gels which for two people for four nights wasn't really enough. We also chose this hotel in part because it sounded like a better one, offering bathrobes and slippers but it didn't have them. Nor did it have a bar available. I went back to check the booking website to make sure we hadn't made a mistake but no, there are quite big differences between the promise and the offering. In one of the rooms the toilet needed many attempts to flush and in the other the cold water ran hot for a long time before I could fill the kettle. In many ways this was a nice hotel and we would possibly recommend it. There were a few issues as well.

Stayed in the family room which is 2 rooms in one. Firstly it's far from luxury, broken glass dresser, toilet door doesn't shut and when we walked in we were hit with a terrible damp smell. The issue is that the main room (room 1) is adjacent to another internal room(weird set up) so the windows would just open up into another room( there is a door that can take you into this room and it's full of rubbish/junk!) The back room window (room 2) had one tiny window which you could only open slightly due to a lock( the outside area is behind garages so probably why there is a lock) I told the owner about the damp and he tried to help but it made no difference. The damp smell was so over powering it ruined our stay, the bed sheets also smelled of damp. The room set up is not fit for purpose, the fact you can't open windows in the main room to let air flow is a big problem and with me being pregnant I felt like I couldn't breath properly in there. Not impressed at all and very baffled by all the good reviews. Perhaps we just had a terrible a room.

Sadly we have to say poor, as we never slept all night due to a dreadful noise it was like a drilling sound we called the sister hotel to let them know, & I was told that it wasn’t there responsibly as it must be coming from the adjacent property & then proceeded to say this complaint had never come up, strange that as they seemed to know straight away where the noise coming from?? This morning received a very curt message again taking no responsibility & not even going to investigate to then say hopefully you had good nights stay!!!

How anyone can rate less than 10/10 is beyond me. I travel a lot, and stay in many a hotel, B&B and Air B&B. This establishment was by far the best I have stayed in. Cleanliness 10/10. Decor 10/10. I have never had so much tea and coffee available in the room. Plug sockets too many to use, en-suite ample towels, toiletries, and spotless. I have OCD and it's very hard to please me, but this establishment went above and beyond. We will return to Blackpool just to stay here.

Loved the room very spacious, loved the shower and it was very clean and very easy check in and check out. Great location for Blackpool beach and other attractions. Would stop again in summer. I loved the fact you could make your own drinks. The only thing that was wrong was a plug socket where the lamp was at my side of the bed it was broken.

Had a fantastic stay at the stranded hotel. The hotel was modern and brand new carpets throughout and in the rooms. The furnishings were amazing and modern. Everything you could need in the room. The cleanliness was excellent and the location was within walking distance to all prime locatations. The owner was lovely and friendly. Will recommend to friends and family and would definitely stay here again

We booked a family deluxe room as we have a nine year old. Ways to book and really good communication. We received the check in details a few days before as well as wifi details. No it’s not staffed but doesn’t need to be. They responded to messages almost immediately when I had a question about check out times. The whole place was so clean and tidy. The room was snug but fit for purpose. The location is good for the south pier and nice being down the quieter end of Blackpool. Yes it’s just a room but enough places in walking distance for food etc. if you just want a room and so not need other facilities in your hotel then can’t recommend this places enough.

Very clean and tidy hotel. Owner was very helpful and accommodating during our stay. Hotel is in a prime location for all amenities in Blackpool. The room is clean and comfortable with tea making facilities. Would definitely recommend and stay here again
