The cabin was clean, with a renovated bathroom and basic kitchen. The gas heater keeps the kitchen/living room warm but struggles to have much effect in other rooms. Cabin 2 would likely be hot in a normal summer, with a large west-facing window in the main bedroom (needs awning). The old double-hung windows in kitchen are loose and rattle in the wind, plus let in a lot of cold air. The large double sliding door to the deck also lets in a lot of cold and would do the reverse on a hot day. Couldn't close door to the other bedroom, meaning cold air kept leaking in from it into the living room (there is no handle on that door). No fly screens at all. Roof gutters full of debris. Shower head was leaking and also partially blocked with debris. Loved the queen sized bed - very comfortable and almost as good as I've had in even 5 star motels. Didn't try the single beds. Lounge was ok. TV reception very patchy - pixelates and drops out in windy or even slightly rainy conditions (needs work). Plenty of power outlets. Needs an energy efficiency makeover to fix draughts, replace thin and old windows with double-glazing, put handle on second bedroom door, put heating in bathroom, replace gas heater (which is flued, thankfully) with heat pump A/C that can treat a larger area. Not bad for the price but the biggest downer was the cold air getting in through gaps, and cold air falling over the head of the main bed from the thin glass above it. Would likely be hot in summer, especially because of lack of fly screens. Mostly quiet, and a decent outlook from the deck. Could do with **** removal (radiata pines, jasmine, cherry laurel. Could do with a hose near parking area to allow for basic washing of vehicles. Cabin 1 would be best in hot conditions because it doesn't have a large western window. Needs a separate recycling bin rather than everything going into a landfill bin.
